Symbolizing: The Lovers
And our 3 weekly threads continue, examining the symbolism in the Majors. What you like and what you don't. What you feel ought to be there...or not.
For this thread, the Lovers. A sticky one given how differently different decks have this card. Just answer one or more of the following:
1) What elements from any Lovers card from any deck do you feel BEST symbolize the Lovers? (Example: "I've always loved decks where there is only one woman and one man and a cupid....")
2) What elements common to most Lovers cards in most decks do you really feel are all WRONG for the Lovers? (Example: "I've NEVER liked cards with Cupid in them!")
3) What symbol have you always felt was right for the Lovers Card, but you've yet to see it? (Example: "I'd like to see hearts and flowers....").
You don't have to answer all the above, but do offer some "why's?" as to what you answer. Why don't you/do you like a single man/woman rather than a man chosing between two women? What does the angel/cupid mean that feels/doesn't feel like the Lovers to you?
