On to some of the most interesting Majors and their symbolism. What you like and what you don't. What you feel ought to be there...or not.
For this thread, The Star. Just answer one or more of the following:
1) What elements from any Star card from any deck do you feel BEST symbolize the Star? (Example: "I like cards that the woman is kneeling as she pours out the water.")
2) What elements common to most Star cards in most decks do you really feel are all WRONG for the Star? (Example: "I don't like that it's almost always a woman.")
3) What symbol have you always felt was right for the Star, but you've yet to see it? (Example: "I'd like to see the woman dressed instead of naked.").
You don't have to answer all the above, but do offer some "why's?" as to what you answer. Why don't you/do you like the Star to feature a naked woman? What about her clothes or lack of clothes make the card feel/not feel like the Star to you?

1) What elements...BEST symbolize the Star? I really like it when the woman has one foot in the water and one foot out. Also i like decks that really emp. starlight. Such as a star shining brightly on her (ex. gill deck)
2) I have to say I really do not like to see the woman clothed. I am ok with it being a woman - symbolically i think it works, but clothing brings her too much into this world.
3) What symbol have you always felt was right for the Star, but you've yet to see it? Ok, this might not work but i have thought it might be nice if created well...what if the pool of water had images of the collected unconscious in the whirls of the water. they could even be hard to see as if they were water ripples. Myths or old images that shape us. Just an idea.

hmmmmmm, I can only answer the first question at the moment. I like the imagery of The Star pouring water out of two pitchers, one into the water, the other onto the land. And the imagery of the water being poured onto the land turning into five separate streams, one of which returns to the pool of water. Also, the eight 8-pointed stars. If these images are missing or altered, the card never seems like a "real" Star card to me.
