The Lovers...

So The Lovers card shows up for a day of my boyfriend and I spending some time together. I thought this was a great sign, BUT our date turned out bad with us arguing and then not talking to each other the whole time. Though we spent all day together at the beach. SO I get back home and look at the card again. I notice there are 2 women on there, one is distracting the man with his partner. Does the Lovers Card mean There may be a distraction in the day? I was a bit confused... If you could help shed any light on this It would be appreciated!

I usually get the Lovers when there is a decision to be made regarding the relationship. Or a choice to be made. I'd much rather see the 2 of Cups instead of the Lovers show up!

The card you're describing sounds like it is from a deck based on imagery that came before the standardized RWS deck, which shows a man, a woman and an angel. Earlier decks show a man with two women near him. This is often said to represent "Choice". As 13thFaeChyld suggests, this would also give some very different meaning than the "Love Love Love" type messages most associate with the Lovers. And perhaps closer to what you experienced that day too, I think! Sounds like both of you were faced with choices, esp. when dealing with your emotions! Best of luck to you....

It is so misleading that "lovers" card isn't it ? Why would a image like that pertain to a choice? Only because Adam made a choice to take of the fruit of the Tree? It doesn't look like a choice to me in the card. Sitting at the beach and being distracted by other woman walking around in bikini's, would be a option too. But never the less, it could still be literally that the both of you (lovers) did spend the day together whether good or not.

Yeah Its got the 2 women, one is lounging below and the other is happily laughing while the man looks down... I have no problems with him looking at pretty women and he really doesnt do that very often. he just fell asleep on the bench while I went on the sand. No words between us that where kind. He went because he didnt want me to go by myself.

Oh yes..even though there were not good words, he still made a choice to be with his lover! He probably didn't want you looking at all the guys!
