I just finished an exercise by Mary Greer on getting to know the court cards. I selected the Queen of Swords from my Secret Tarot deck because she is my favorite :) I thought it might be fun to see what answers you get, here are mine....
If the Queen was animal....she would be a stelthy cat, like a puma, or cheeta
If the Queen was a plant or flower...she would be an orchid
If the Queen was a landscape...it would be a night of thunderstorms and lightning over Rome (especially over the runes)
If the Queen was a body of water...she would be a dark calm sea
If the Queen was color...she would be deep purple
If the Queen was music....she would be seductive, rythemic trance inducing
If the Queen was a tool...she would be a razor
If the Queen was a historical character....she would be cleopatra
What a fun way to get to know those court cards! So anyone else have some ideas on the Queen of Swords?

Dang...I have GOT to get this book! Sounds fun :)
If the Queen was a severe weather warning...she'd be an ice-storm
If the Queen was a shoe, she'd be a pointy, high-heeled boot
If the Queen was an eating utensil, she'd be a knife...or an hors d'oevre toothpick
If the Queen was a fish, she'd be a swordfish

I have been looking at court cards today (from the Morgan Greer - they are quite expressionate and have different personalities visually, which is a good start). I like this idea though. Which book does the exercise come from?
Best wishes

Aren't you missing a bet here? If she's a wide, calm lake then she's the "lady of the lake" lifting out her sword to present to King Arthur ;)

If the Queen was a precious stone ... she would be diamond
If the Queen was a profession ... she would be a psychologist

WOW! those are some great additions! These origenal ones came from "Tarot for Yourself - A Workbook for Personal Transformation". I like the book, it has lots of fun creative exercises.
I am very impressed with the other questions added, I thought that people would just re-work mine. Leave it to the memebers of this forum to exceed my expectations....you guys are great!

just another word on the workbook...it gives you a chart that you can fill in for all the court cards so you can compare and contrast. It also asks you to pick out two careds that would strangly be attracted to each other and have a "provacataive conversation" with them on a subject of your choice. My queen of swords and knight of cups talked about war.
