Hi,
I did a reading for a friend on a possible relationship she's thinking of starting. The spread looks pretty positive but I could use some help with the World Card as physical action to take.
If anyone needs more info than this than let me know.
Thanks:), EAB

Actually, the World Card is pretty clear when it comes to action: Travel. But not travel as in a carefully planned trip. With the World card you stuff a backpack, set it on your shoulders and get walking. Or you catch a plane at the last minute to someplace you've always wanted to go to, but never expected to go. We're not talking about a trip to visit your favorite aunt, either, we're talking about visiting an Ashram in India. So the question is: is the guy your friend is interested in planning on going anywhere for the summer? Hiking in the mountains? A beach party? Has he invited her? If so, she should accept and join him, even if it's unplanned, unexpected and last minute.
Equally possible is that the card is telling her that *she* should invite him on an impromtu adventure: going camping, a cross-country drive, a cheap flight to someplace exciting and fun.
If this doesn't sound quite right given the spread, then there is one other "action" to be taken with the world card: graduation. The person must finally take that necessary step to complete something they've been working on, well, for a long time, maybe years. The World signals a transition from Journeyman to Master. This could simply be saying that she's wise enough and knowledgable enough in relationships that she can trust her judgement and that whatever step she takes will probably be a wise one.
Or it might be saying that the relationship will work out better for both of them if she completes her Ph.D or whatever else she's been working on for so long and should finish up, and, in doing so, impress this guy.

Hi Thirteen,
Interesting. Thanks for your help. As usual I learn so much from reading your posts:).
Could the fact that he is foreign have anything to do with it? His English isn't very good......her Russian is just starting to come along. She actually traveled to Russia in December and plans to go back again sometime in August.
These two are so shy they haven't really spoken but have been eyeing eachother for months now. When I said relationship I should have said "Dating". She wants a date with him. The cards show a mutual interest/curiosity.
Interestingly enough she also has a couple other "interests" in Russia. One of them was on his way to see her this week but his Grandmother fell ill and he had to cancel. The other she is going to visit in Moscow in August.
Is it possible the spread is referring to one of them although I specifically asked about the guy she sees here almost daily?

Oh, yes! This makes a lot more sense. If you said he was a next door neighbor, the card wouldn't really relate to him--but from Russia? Yep. That's the World Card. *Distant* or "exotic" foreign lands rather than comfortable, familiar, near-by foreign lands.
Action-wise, I would say that the World Card is urging her to take a chance and ask this guy out to coffee. Embrace the World. It emphasizes that she's comfortable and at home in another, distant place, drawn to it even.
I think it's also telling her to practice her Russian. Practice, practice, practices...preferably with a native speaker ;)

Great! Thank You Thirteen:). She's even been looking for someone to practice her Russian with. I'll be sure to pass the news along.
