I'd like to share a take on the 5 of Pentacles, explained in the Tarot course I'm taking. Teacher said the people in the 5 of Pentacles can be seen as those who fell from The Tower, that remark made a lot of sense to me, hope it help you to have a fresh take on the card.

Yes, there is a mini-Lovers card in the 2 of Cups, so a sort of mini-"follow-up" on the Tower sure does work! Are there any other correspondences between the Major & the Minor?

From a Marseilles point of view it makes no sense. Because the Tower liberates us. And the people depicted in the RWS 5 of Pentacles don't seem to have achieved any freedom at all.

The Tower may liberate us, but we don't always see it at first. Sometimes we cling to the trauma, and remain stuck in it. Does that concept apply to the Marseilles 5 Deniers concept?

First, sorry I didn't mention my course only uses the RWS deck, it opened the door to confusion and so maybe the take on 5 of pentacles made not much sense because the comparation of two different reading traditions, anyway all this is metaphoric :) the Tower might liberate us but in RWS 5 of Pentacles it's all about the people.
RWS, 5 of Pentacles ia a lesson (some people call it karmic) that might started with the good, bad or worse enlightment from the Tower, it made a lot of sense to me because for meditation I consider Trumps as universal forces, minor arcana as a story and court cards as the characters on the story, so what happened to the people falling from the Tower? 5 of Pentacles is one of the 77 posible answers... and I find this one useful to learn and understand the influence of the universal forces.

Flavio,
I think its very neat to draw associations that way, between the cards. What a great tool for learning! Thanks for sharing with us.

It is an interesting idea for use in meditation. In readings, however, I find the meaning changes depending on the deck and the question, every individual reading.
I've been using the Mortgan Greer deck, and the image on that card, a woman, holding an injured man in her arms, comforting him, has at times been about co-dependency, for example - the problem of enabling those in our lives who have addictions. I know it's not the meaning in the books, but it has been that a few times in readings I've done, and it's always been right on the mark.
I do think it is different when you are using a deck for meditation, and it sounds as if the correlation to the Tower might be an intersting way to look at it. For me, though, the Tower is most often a moment of great unexpected change - for good or ill.

I read with RWS, have done for a long time and I think the thing about the deck is that everyone has their own take on it and thanks for yours Flavio :)
I personally see the Tower as being refreshing, liberating, a clearance. Not one that you have always chosen, but I am a BIG, HUGE Tower fan and love it in my own spreads :D:D:D (Maybe I am some kinda weirdo??)
It'a all about freedom and renewal.
Personally I have never seen the people from the Tower falling into the Five of Pents, but I suppose that would depend on how you read the Five of Pents??
It doesn't make sense to me, although the concept is interesting, I find it quite a dismal and negative way to look at the Tower and the Five of Pents.
That's just me though ;)
