I like to resort my cards after I'm done with them at night and almost everynight the same thing keeps happening: The Fool winds up in some weird place away from the rest of the deck. Last night I found him under my laptop computer. The night before that he some how ended up across the room in front of my chest of drawers. Other times he falls out of the deck when I'm just shuffling and handling the cards, but he always seems to escape from the deck. I was wondering if maybe the card was trying to tell me something, I just can't figure out what.

Welcome to the forums, cait_inthe_moon!
I've had personal items show up in strange places, but never a Tarot card! :D Just out of curiousity, what deck do you use?
I have no idea what your wandering card might mean, but the story is certainly intriguing!

I use the Nigel Jackson deck. I thought at first maybe I was just dropping the cards without realizing it since the deck is so big, but I don't walk around the room with the cards, so I don't know how it got over somewhere else.

Sounds like the Fool is really trying to tell you something. Are you at the beginning of something new in your life? Or even more likely, is there something you'd like to escape, or that you are in a rut about? It sounds like a need to get back to "beginner's mind", and the ability to see things from different perspectives, the ability to stand out from the crowd, wander around, all those foolish things...
I've never had a wandering fool, but I have had cards literally "jump" out of the deck at me. Often the same card, until I finally got whatever message I was trying to figure out. I think it's like dreaming the same dream, or variation of it, until the message gets through.

The only new thing in my life at the moment is the tarot cards. My life has been running great, and I don't feel as if I am stuck in any ruts. I thought that maybe the card was trying to encourage me to continue on with learning about the cards. I am very new to this and I have only had my deck for a couple of weeks.

Nigel Jackson, relating the Magical Meanings
of the Greater Trumps, says of The Fool:
He is the Pure Spirit in the
Age of Gold
the transcendent paradaisal
 Aeon of Saturnus
which is the abundance of
D IVINE M IND
the boundless

Hi 'cait'
This is a really neat opportunity...I hope you will "run with it":) The Fool seems very desparate to communicate with you! I hope you will take him up on the offer. Maybe you could place The Fool beside your bed or under your pillow over night instead of putting him back in the deck. This might help you understand the message. Good luck and hope you will let us know what happens:)

Well, in that case, I definitely think you are right and that the Fool is encouraging you to continue learning. The Fool, though sometimes numbered "0", is often thought of as outside the other Majors, as if taking a journey through them. Happy journeying! :)

I intend on continuing learning about the cards. I have not had any quiet time to sit and communicate with the cards to find out why I have a wandering Fool. As soon as I receive some time for myself, I will definitly ask them.

I did a spread, asking why the fool was wandering. It seemed to encourage me to continue and to try to find more time for myself to read the cards. I intend on taking that advice seeing as how I have very little time to myself now- a- days.

cait, that was my thought: I think he wants you to come out and play! Enjoy your tarot time whenever you can.

Apparently, he did want me "to come out and play". I've been doing more readings with my Nigel Jackson Deck and since I've finally gotten enough time to do actual readings on a daily basis, the Fool has quit wandering. He seems to come out in my readings quite often, though.
