Hi All
Have just started going through Mary K Greer and Tom Little's book 'Understanding the Tarot Court' with my 'Ancient Italian' as I found it very useful when working with the Grimaud Marseilles, recently.
I began with a significator exercise and worked on a five card reading that I imagine is looking at my career. I chose the 'Fante Di Coppe' (Page of Cups) as my significator. Even though I can see that the Cup's page would be more in line for a reading on my emotional life, the other cards steered it in a different direction, and I then related the page to my lacking of confidence around my work life.
Firstly, I saw the 'Regina Di Bastoni' (Queen of Batons) behind me and I took that to be all of the help that my friend has given me in getting to the position I am, but it was two other cards that got my intuition going and they seemed such a lovely pairing that I wanted to share it here.
'Il Bagatto (1)' faces my 'Fante Di Coppe'. Firstly, I noticed, since the page is facing in that direction that 'Il Bagatto' is my next action or move in the spread, as guided by the book. I saw 'Il Bagatto' as 'the spark, as making things happen' and I noticed that the page was holding his cup up - almost saying 'cheers'. Then, I noticed that facing him. 'Il Bagatto' was also holding a glass up to him - as it they were toasting something. The final card was '6 Di Batoni', which I interpreted as some kind of resolution, welcome relief and victory.
Those two 'central' cards really held my attension and sparked my intuition; they felt like a celebration was soon to happen, and since 'Il Bagatto' is standing behind a table with 'the tools of the trade' infront of him, I wondered if maybe a job offer was on the horizon. The whole spread fitted very nicely together for me (possibly wishful thinking, hehe) and was very much like a linked together story.
Just wanted to share this with you as it was a nice moment when two cards formed a pairing that I don't remember being concious of before.
Here's the cards. Any thoughts?
Yabs
*Just to add: the stairs in the 'Fante' card made me think of a 'step up' or progression.

Seeing this deck for the first time and following the same intutition reading style you used, the first thing coming to me is that you have a lot to contribute in this new job (hopefully!) as the Fante cup is much more bigger than that of the Il Bagatto as if telling him "you ask for a little glass but see I have this big cup to offer". Best wishes for the reading interpretation to become true.

Thanks Flavio. I also noticed the larger cup; as well as having a lot to offer, being the suit of cups, I wonder also, if it would be recognised how my 'heart' was involved in the work that I want to do; designing clothing because it is a passion, as well as something that would pay the bills. It was really nice to see this pairing; like the coming together of two people you may not usually expect. I am enjoying this deck, and in particular, the courts; they feel very alive. Just being subject to this interaction has made me feel more positive about my work (in fashion, but also with the tarot); lets hope it comes to something.

In light of the last couple of posts, I just got a phonecall, asking me to go and help work on the 'trends' for the menswear design team of a large retail company next week.

Thanks Keslyn and Flavio. The job is only for a week at the moment. I have worked there before on womenswear but am pleased to do this as I specialised in menswear design and am more passionate about it. It will be more good experience and hopefully, may help open doors. I think that the head designer is looking for an assistant designer so I will try my best to impress!
Will have to draw from the good old Ancient Italian again to see if there are any more clinking of glasses in the near future. He is going to the far East during the week so will be leaving me stuff to do, I imagine; hopefully I will be able to do some work that will convince him I am up to a position in the company on a permenant basis. If not, then what I have done will look good on my CV and another employer may take me on.
Thanks for your support.
