I have three decks -- an RWS, Losche's Cosmic, and Lori Wall's Erotic deck, all of which I truly love. My study of the Tarot began in earnest Fall 2002. Recently I have had the satisfying feeling of completely understanding a card's special meaning for me.
8 of wands rx--this is the card of procrastination, especially procrastination borne of fear that is not faced. Not to say that the meaning is written in stone but it is as if the decks and I have made a deal; whenever they need to show me procrastination, I will get *that* card.
peace,

My mother and I have connected with 10 of Cups since the death of my father last May, for us this card has represented our desire to be a complete family again, it is not posible now, the only thing we can do now is look to the sky knowing there is someone in heaven looking after us.

7 pentacles - I get it whenever I need to be reminded to sit back and let things grow at their own pace, to get out of my own way (I am a very impatient person, so I get it very often).

It's true, you get history with the cards, and each one starts to take on special significance, maybe there is a memory or a story that relates to each one.
I had a thing where the Ace of Swords kept popping up over and over.
Now it's always the Eight of Pentacles ("Paula, shut up and go practice")
