I know in Tarot reading everything is possible, so this question's intention is to ask you all how have you deal with a situation like this:
I did a CC for my sister regarding her current difficulties on getting pregnant as all physical tests in her and husband indicate there should be no problem, reading showed her with a lot of fears and insecurities, so we thought an emotional healing is needed in order to get pregnant, in CC position 3 (the basis) appeared the King of Cups, both her husband and our father are Cancer, the moment of confusion to me came because:
- Our father died last May and she feels very sad and guilty because unsettled matters between them.
- She and her husband are having troubles and worst discussions ever caused by adjustments after a move they made to another city a couple of months ago.
In this case both men had an influence in the situation, but if in a reading a same court card showed two or more potential persons, how could you detect which one is actually appearing in the reading? Thank you.

The problem is she is stressed and needs healing. Period. She maybe having problems with her husband BECAUSE of her mourning her father. So the King of cups DOES refer to both of them. I would do a separate reading on EACH person and what she needs to do to deal better with them. And (mundane advice!) if she is very unhappy mourning her Dad she might want to get into a grief support group for a while.

I'm sorry to hear about the death of your father. The first year is always a difficult adjustment after the loss of a parent.
The card definitely points to both your father and her husband, which makes sense, since women often choose husbands who are like their fathers. So any unresolved issues with your father may be coming up in the marriage also.
Moving is also extremely stressful, and to have to deal with that along with grief may be too much for her. I agree that finding a grief support group, or seeing a counsellor might help her work through her grief and her feelings for her husband.
You might do a reading to find out if this is the best time for her to get pregnant. Maybe after the first year of grieving would be better for her and any child she has.

Thank you very much Ace and RedMaple for your kind advice I appreciate it very much because can help my sister keep on with her life and hopefully get pregnant in the near future.
Women looking for husbands like their fathers was a new idea to me but makes a lot of sense not only for this situation but for many family members and friends, I understand that wasn't a Tarot revelation but something human nature observation, thank also for waking up my awareness on that.

Good question, Flavio! :) I've wondered the same thing on occasion! I know I've read interpretations that two different court cards can be two aspects of the same person, but not an aspect of two people being shown by one. Thinking about it, I guess the Lovers sorta does that..
