question about year card/soul card....

i've always been confused about this... which way are you supposed to add the numbers? using my b-day as an example... would it be added 10+27+2005, or 1+0+2+7+2+0+0+5??? the first one gives me 8, the second, 17. (of course, 1+7=8 anyway, but 17 is, obviously, a totally different card.) so, which is it???

In Numerology, for calculating your numbers, its good to try all methods. Be it (10+27+2005) or (1+0+2+7+2+0+0+5) or (1 + 9 + 7), it normally reduces to the same number, in this case, 8. However for some other cases, take the 2/3 number. In Tarot+Numerology, when calculating your soul and personality number, the single digit derived from the birth date is your soul number. The double digit derived from the birth date is your personality number.(If there isn't a double digit, then your personality and soul number will be the same) As for year card, keep the highest number under 23, don't reduce it.

I think you just chose a method and stick to it. For me, I like to add each individual number. This way somehow makes more sense to me.

Accordng to the book I have (Mary Greer's Tarot for Your Self), you line them up as I have below, then add. I put -'s where there would normally be a space: --10 --27 2005 ____ 2042 =2+0+4+2=8 Bar

PS that will be your year from October 27, 2005 to October 26, 2005. This year for you does not start till October. It is currectly a 7 year for you, till October. BTW, for your soul and personality #'s you would add in the same way but subsitute the year you were born for the 2005. Bar

do you mean from october 27, 2005 until october 26, 2006??? or from 2004 until 2005? so... right now, on this very day, should i be using 2005 to get my card? or will that not start until october? ...i'm more confused than ever....

okay... gypsy needs to think before she types.... now that i re-read it, i think i understand. the arbitrarily-placed "beginning" of a new year really means nothing, as our new years begin on the anniversaries of our births. so... it seems that there would be a way to calculate our year cards based on our ages, instead of being based on a somewhat random year number. is there such a thing?

just me again gypsy:-) --10 --27 2005 ____ (or for whatever year you want to look at) is your year card. It has nothing to do with your age. Just like your horoscope sign is related to the month and day your were born only.The year if not important. It just tells you the major influences you can expect in that year. You are in the year now from October 27th 2004 till October 26th, 2005. Since it is not yet October 2005, that year has not yet ended for you. No it is not related to the January 1st, the official year. Your years, life, started in October. What IS related to your age are your personality and soul cards, these use all 3, the month, day and the year you were born. You would add all 3 together. My bd is June 29, 1956, for example. or ---6 --29 1956 _____ 1991-1+9+9+1=20 That makes 20 my personality card. Your personity card represents yourlife purpose, aspirations and lessons to be learnt. Your soul card is basically the two numbers of your personality card added together. Mine is 2+0=2. Your soul card represents your soul purpose and qualities that will assist you in your life...If your personality card only has a one-digit number then both your personality card and your soul card are the same. There are lots more things you can do with your bd in Mary Greer's book : Tarot for Your Self: a Workbook for Personal Transformation. Including your zodiac year, hidden factor card, numeroligical lessons and opportunity cards, destiny card....and a whole lot more. Bar.
