Significance of the cards in Tarot

I'm not sure if this has already been known or have been posted in the forum throughout the ages. Anyway, I just want to share my discovery.

There are a total of 78 cards in tarot.

22 are major arcana. 56 are minor arcana.

When you reduce 56 to single digit, it is 11. Which is to say 56 combination has the vibrations of 11.

When in their reduced form, 22 + 11 is 33.

11 is the number of illumination. Simply to say a learning card. The 56 minor arcana represents 4 suits which depicts a different story each. These are life lessons - learning.

22 is the number for master builder. The 22 major arcana tells of a journey. The vibrations of each cards are relatively strong as they make a rather sound impact to our lives. Isn't that so similar to master building?

33 is the number for universal love. Love is all there is - Everything. Which means that the vibration of 33 signifys everything.

In numerology, a number vibration is also afixed to each words. T(2) A(1) R(9) O(6) T(2) = 2

2 is High Priestess in Tarot. See the coincidence?

I know, if a skeptic sees this, it will only be deduce as playing with numbers. However, as skeptical one can be, in numerology, for example (29, 38, 47, 56, 65, 74, 83, 92) all these numbers have the vibration of 11 if it fully utilizes its potential.

If you immediately add 22 to 56 which is 78. Reduce it immediately it will result as 6(15). Now, reduce 33 to single digit and it will result as 6. When you're able to maximise the vibration of 6, wouldn't you also reach 33?

Hope this brings delight to tarot readers and enroach our studies on tarot into other fields which are very closely related such as numerology and astrology.

If you reduce 56 to a single digit, it's 2. (11 = 1+1 = 2)

I have also often pondered on the significance of the number of the cards in the Tarot.

It is important not to reduce master numbers. 11/2, 22/4, 33/6 and so forth. It is because their vibrations are stronger than the normal 2,4,6 and so forth.

I would say the number of cards isn't just a mere coincidence. The fact is nothing is coincidental. Everything happens for a reason.

11, 22 and 33 is a complete cycle. For tarot to encompass each numbers as a whole, it is to show that their vibrations actually coincides with the patterns of life.

Thank you for this information, NeXoRiouS. :)

No problem. I'm just trying to share my findings.

Well, my real intention is to show that, 'Hey, look what magnificence Tarot has!'

Numbers have always been a major part of Tarot. Its nice to see how it can be applied on a larger introspective.

I'm very interested in your numbers. My birth number is 11 (reduced gives me a soul number of 2= Papesse) - and I was born on 3/3. So 3 and 33 have some significance in my life too. But what does "vibration" mean, in relation to a number? how do you determine it? What importance does a vibration for a number have?

Hi Helvetica. A simple analogy is that everything in life has a certain connotation of vibration. It is similar to that of musical notes. That is why some psychics can 'feel' things they touch.

The same applies to numbers. Each number speaks of a different language - vibration.

Regarding the significance of the numbers, it's similar to that of the sanskrit word - Ohm, Namo Amitabha and etc. When you say Amitabha, you're calling out the name of that buddha. So when you say ONE, its vibrations will transmit to where it should be.

Thus, as our descent on earth is represented by our date of birth and name at birth, imagine a person walking with these numbers in us. Seen auras before? Visualise the numbers instead of auras. In fact, numbers also have colors which can also be reflect in auras.

Each number speaks of a different tone. Henceforth, when you have dual numbers like 11/2, 22/4, 33/6 and etc, the vibration becomes even sound. For example, a cymbal is 1 and flute is 2. When there's only 1, the sound of cymbal will be heard. When there's 11/2 but the full potential of 11/2 is not maximized, 1 cymbal and flute will be heard together. However, when 11/2 is fully optimized, two cymbals will be heard at the same time. Wouldn't it make a difference?

This is also the reason why I've said master numbers not to be reduced. It will terminate the effect of master numbers

The above is just an analogy. Words causes alot of misinterpretation due to the limited vocabulary. Thus using sounds can be a better explanation.

As you're born on 3/3, it does have a slight significance but as compared to a 33/6, you're far from it. A dual 3 is different from a 3. That's the greatness of master numbers.

Regarding your birth number 11, is it your Life Path number which is obtained from adding Day of Birth with Month of Birth and Year of Birth? If it is so, it need not be reduced to 2. It is because it is a master number 11/2. If you've noticed, I'll put a /x behind the master numbers because its the significance from individual numbers.

As for,

I said this because in Tarot, major cards and minor cards are numbered. There is 1-10 in minor and 0-21. Sometimes fool are placed as 22 which is a master number. And if you've noticed, there are no master number in minor arcana. It stops at 10 and resumes as court cards (page/knight/queen/king). Whereas in major arcana there are 2. 11 and 0(22). I won't call this a coincidence.

When I said a larger introspective, I meant not only the individual card's number matters, the total number of cards also bears certain significance.
