Then don't ask about your day ;)
I have conversations with my cards. Disagree, agree, fall out, make up. They a like a tempo.
If things get a bit samey for me (oh horror), I ask them how I can change that, or if I'm missing something. Sometimes they might tell me it's just a phase and not to be so childish. Sometimes they'll point the way to a new and exciting area of study. Sometimes, they'll tell me to stop taking myself so seriously, get off my &%ç* and go dancing. You have to develop a dynamic relationship wih your cards, as with your life - with the inredients that are given you, you make it happen.

Hi again NewWithCards,
I don't tend to ask a specific question of my cards every day to be honest. I'm mainly drawing a daily card in the evening for the next day and then seeing what matches up with it at the end of the next day. I've done some "practice" readings on friends and a couple on here (which is really helping) and, depending on time, my current situation in life and relationships (my main query at the moment!). Aun (from here) has some really good spreads on his website that you might like to try out.
Hope this is of some help

I don't really ask question unless I'm at a point in the situation where I can't or won't see a way though it or an answer to it. I pull cards at radom and see how it applies to daily life or I'll pull a card at the end of the day to see how my day stand to help reveiw the day.

I do daily draws but sometimes I tend to lay three cards - Mind, Body, Spirit and just see what comes up, its a useful spread for if you're feeling out of sorts but don't really know why. Makes it a bit more interesting than just asking 'Why do I feel like this?' :)

:)
I don't ask questions for daily draws - I just choose cards, sometimes three, two, one or five - depends on how I'm feeling. I let them tell me what I need to know.
Sometimes its not even for me especially if I'm pondering on a reading for someone else .

Some days I don't have questions, I just pull cards and see what they have to say. On other days, if I don't feel I have a question or situation to inquire about but yet I want some definitive or meaningful answers, I ask questions like:
What do I need to focus on right now?
Who needs my attention most?
What is my daughter lacking? How can I address her needs?
What can I do to make my life more meaningful right now?
What should I put my energy into?
What do I need to let go of? What things are best left behind?

If that gets frustrating, try asking about a certain situation (What do I need to know about ____?), and then do a three card reading on it. A good one is Situation; Advice; Outcome. Three card spreads are interesting but not so long that they are intimidating. :)
___
Mary?
painting the dining room?
going to Mom's house?
studying for my test?
calling that cute guy?
etc., etc. :D

Hi,
As for my answer to your question...I tend to read only for myself. And I can only say that I tend to always have way more questions than I have time to answer. As soon as I answer one, 5 more pop up. :-)
I have at least 20 in line now. LOL I tend to see Tarot as a tool to understand yourself better and for self-improvement. So anything at all in that area can spark a number of readings. As soon as I do a reading, I realize that there are still things I don't fully understand and that sparks the next bunch. :-)
I had a series that were sparked by the Dalai Lama book, "The Art of Happiness" a while back basically on what I could do to feel happier in my life, what I am could stop doing that has been making me unhappy....
Right now my major sources of ideas come from either O magazine (Oprah Winfrey's magazine). Or most often lately from "Tarot for Self Discovery" By Nina Braden. The exercises are simple but really enlightening, and they really make you notice areas in your life you don't understand fully.
One of the exercises in that book called "My Mother, My Self" sparked a series of readings on how to be more nurturing to myself, and on developing better problem solving skills. Another exercise (I forget the exact name, but it was something like "Visiting the World of If") recently sparked a series of readings on inner child work. The one I am doing now, is a longish one on the negative things I say to myself when I get upset...and where I learnt to talk to myself like that, who taught me that in my childhood, why....and how I can learn to talk to myself more positively when I make a mistake... I think that one is going to be really useful for me.
I totally love that book. The current exercise I am working on in it is "Love Break". It is amazing, it makes you feel so good to do it. If anyone has the book I really recommend that exercise.:-)
Hope some of this helps:-)

I still do what I did years ago when I had cards but no idea how to use them. I would pull one card or later when more comfortable, three and see if the card came up. It was usually literal i.e. 3 Cups. I would be having coffee with a friend and third came along and I would say to myself '3 of cups happening' and after awhile it became more prophetic and I would laugh along with my Tarot pack. Sometimes I would misunderstand the card and see my mistake in hindsight. So I started a journal. I let the cards tell me the question unless I am reading for someone else. If I am required to do something i.e. 3 cups reversed and I know I am avoiding friends( for whatever reason), I will quite often get what I call 'a poke in the ribs' card. Page of Cups saying 'you're too introverted'. If I still ignore I will get a 2 of wands. Then I put the situation right before I get The Tower. regards Rosanne

Like Lurea_aure, I most often ask "What do I need to know at this time?" That way if there's something I'm ignoring while I'm busy obsessing about something else then the cards bring it to my attention. I also find with this question that I hear what i need rather than what I want. When I wasn't framing that question I found myself seeing what I wanted to see and twisting the answer around to suit myself.

Often I don't ask a specific question for my daily draw, just ask for the Wisdom of the Tarot. Sometimes it's just one card, sometimes 3 or 4, depending on how I feel. BB, Michael

When I couldn't figure out what to ask, I started reading for others. THEY had LOTS of questions!
