I've decided to do daily draws with the Tarot of Transformation this month...and I got to wondering, as I perused all the beauties that call out to be chosen for future months :)...how do you break down your deck choices? How often do you switch?
What makes a deck a good one for daily draws for you?
You can vote more than once.

When I do a 'daily draw' I pretty much always draw three cards :D
3: Advice
1: Theme of the day
2: Hidden influences/Beneath the surface/Roots of the situation
I do it every few days, or months, or sometimes every day :) and I choose from whichever deck I feel like.
I used the Ancestral Path for a while, I mostly use Old English at the moment although I had an Ancestral Path moment a few days ago.
So, if 'other' includes 'pretty random really' I suppose that is what I should vote.

Me too. I usually pick a deck with the intention of using it for a couple of weeks, but I don't always follow through. Sometimes they only last a day or two and sometimes, like this summer, they last much longer.
This might be silly, but I think size really matters to me. I do most of my daily readings at work (don't tell on me!) so I like to use something that fits in my purse. I also don't like to use a deck that I'm totally unfamiliar with for my daily draws, 'cause I'm afraid I won't get much from the reading if I haven't taken some time to study the deck. For example, I don't use Legend yet because I want to finish the book first and do a couple of practice runs.
Peace,
April

I've had to vote 'other' too. I've used the Morgan Greer for many months for my daily draws and no other decks but now I also have the DruidCraft and I'm very drawn to this deck and in the last couple of weeks its the only deck I have used. This deck really inspires me - Never thought I would move on from the Morgan Greer but the DruidCraft is a real beauty.

I can't vote, I don't do a daily draw, or a daily anything, I follow whims not schedules. But if I did.. I would go for variety. I'd use a different deck as often as I thought of it. I don't really have routines. I was the gal who ruined the seating chart in your class by occupying a different desk on unpredictable days ...

Firetartlet, I am the same way, vis a vis dailies. I started on Jan 1 this year and decided to give it a go. Hopefully some of these experts will be helpful.
Thanks all!

I picked "other". I usually use my Sharman-Caselli deck, but if i feel like it I'll use another deck. It doesn't really worry me, i'm on no schedual, and I just use whatever deck feels right at the time.

I didn't vote as my tarot habits change frequently.
I've been doing a daily draw with the Vargo Gothic for about a month now, before that I used either the Secret Tarot or IJJ Swiss. Sometimes I don't do a daily draw at all. If I have a new deck I usually use that for a while to see how I feel about the deck.
I've also been doing a nightly draw with the Vargo and trying to focus on the card as I fall asleep. It is more for training in concentration and to bond with the deck than to stimulate dreams but once a character from the deck did show up in my dream.

I will usually do a daily draw with a new deck simply to learn the cards from the new deck. When I do this I will also make sure that it is always a new card so that I can try and go through the entire deck, one card per day. If I pull a card that I've already pulled during this process then I pull another card and so on until I get a new one for that day. So some days it is not only one card for my daily draw but multiple ones. I don't do this necessarily as a reading but simply to learn that card from that deck as that deck says in its Little White Book. So checking the LWB is part of the process.
I usually pick the deck by my current interest or if it's new. I'll remember a deck that I have for one reason or another and pull that one out of moth balls (not really in moth balls but you get the concept) and then work with that deck. I may also be doing actual readings with a completely different deck at the same time.

Since I started hanging around this joint, my collection has expanded a bit. :P So I am trying to work through my new purchases by doing daily draws, and changing decks every two weeks.
I'm not always right on time, though-sometimes a deck is so user-friendly (like the Goddess) or so obstinate (like the Hanson-Roberts) that I end up spending more time with those decks. I'm also noticing as I switch around that I am getting a stronger sense of the personality of my decks. Some are sweet and friendly, some are accurate but deadly serious, and a few are just workhorses, willing and able to give anything a shot. :D
How's that for anthropomorphizing?

So far, I try to use a different deck each time I make a daily reading. It's my way to work on all my decks and to connect with them (or to keep the connection) even if I'm working on some decks in particular, or use some more than others. Plus, I like the variety, discovering new things about them as I use them.

I voted other because it depends on so much, and there is no pattern at all. I'll stay with one deck for a month, then switch back and forth for a few days, or every other day, or . . . it even confuses me. ;)

I have to admit that though I have several decks, I tend to stick with one or two, though after reading your responses, I may try to expand my horizons a bit. I just tend to become extremely close to a single deck and become reluctant to "betray" it by leaving it on the shelf in exchange for another deck. I do usually change my deck about once a year or so. I use a deck until another deck picks me. I saw The Druidcraft Tarot and immediately felt it to be a perfect first deck for my sister... until I saw The Gilded Tarot. Now I have to decide whether to get the deck for her or for me!

I voted other, since I don't choose what deck I'm going to draw from. The one I draw from now (When I can rememeber) is the Sakki-Sakki, and before that it was the Thoth, and the Morgan-Greer, oh, it changes all the time.

I chose "other". Currently my default decks to use are the Osho Zen Tarot and the Tao Orcale. However, I use whatever deck feels right at the time.
