I was talking with a friend(reader) and asked her if she had common combinations that always came up. She had combinations for a sexually transmitted disease, pregnancy, winfalls, affairs, miscarriage. All sorts of things.
There are a few combinations that I've started to get more commonly as well.
Joker(red)10 diamonds, Ace diamond= winfall
10 spade, jack depending on suit of significator=dream
9 spade,6 club=lack of self=esteem.
So do you have common combinations that show up together? Give us the details.

The Universe and The Lovers represent Reiki
The Chariot Reversed and Strength Reversed represent Pet Allergies
Temperance Reversed and The Sun Reversed represent Cholesterol Concerns

I've always been fascinated with these types of Tarot combinations but haven't been able to find much info on it. Do you for example, come by these combinations yourself or did you pick them up somewhere along the way?
Temperance and The Sun as cholesterol for example. How on earth did you get that interpretation? Is it because it came up time and again in readings?

I'd like to see card combinations that other readers use.
The Moon takes on a new light if The Star or The High Priestess appears in the same reading with it, by showing the emergence of psychic gifts or a strong spiritual awakening.
The Star and High Priestess with the 8 of Wands signals much the same thing as the preceeding combo but takes on more masculine overtones.
Justice, The Emperor (which is often replaced by The Hierophant) and the King of Swords often signals legal issues or courtroom activity.
The Empress, Ace of Wands, Page of Wands and Page of Cups shows pregnancy... I'm not sure why but the Page of Pentacles sometimes replaces one of the other pages to signal the same event.
In many spreads I've seen the 5 of Pentacles appear to support the 6 of Swords... In my RWS deck, both cards show people moving on after disappointment.
another common pairing in spreads occurs with the 3 and 8 of Pentacles.

MM ~ Possibly to indicate the sex of the child? Or maybe the plodding slowness of the card points to possible developmental delays? Or, Pentacles are "the country" - remote, somehow - maybe an absent father? I'm stumped - maybe this is one of those things one can only figure out by keeping records and following up...BB, Stella

Hi Caridwen. I've been keeping a journal that contains most of the readings I've done over the past year. You'd be surprised at the consistencies!
So, to answer your question, yes, some things have come up repeatedly while others just seem to click for me and when I ask it turns out to be on the money.
In my deck the Temperance card makes me think of something that constantly requires balance or moderation. In my life, that would be my cholesterol. When I think of the Sun reversed I picture something that is not clear.
Do you attribute any of your Major Arcana to parts of the body? Because I also use the Sun reversed combined with the Emperor (head, face, eyes)reversed to indicate an eyesight problem.
The Emperor reversed usually signifies a headache. But the Ace of Swords reversed and the Emperor reversed tells me I'm looking at some type of inflammation in the head area such as a migraine.
Really, whatever makes sense to you is basically what you are telling your cards you'd like to see come up to indicate something such as described above.
Many people disagree with the way I program my cards but to each his own. I've had much success with this method and have seen everything from migraines, eyesight problems, kidney infections, thyroid conditions, psoriasis, even hemmorrhoids.
If you have any further questions feel free to ask.

I've never done a health reading so never had the chance to really do it. I also don't use reversed cards.
I think it's fascinating all the same and will start keeping a journal again. My last one ran out of pages and I haven't bought a new one. But these will certainly be well worth jotting down when I do.
As for other people disagreeing - if it works for you that's all that matters;)
