Reading for past lives

I've seen decks specifically for reading about past lives but you can find this information out with any deck true? What type of layout would you use?

How interesting, I was thinking of looking into this myself. I stumbled across a book on karmic and past life readings. By Edian McCoy, I have not the slightest clue how good/reliable etc the book is as I haven't read it yet. The acutal title is "Past-Life & Karmic Tarot" I flipped throught it and there ARE several spreads listed.

I have heard it said that some decks are better than others for this, don't know which ones though.
In the Spreads Index sticky there are several spreads specifically about Karmic ties and Past Lives.

Its supposed to look like a pinwheel. If you connect the numbers it may look more like it.
1,2,3,4: youth in each life
5,6,7,8: middle age in each life
9,10,11,12: old age
13,14,15,16: lessons learned
17,18,19:current lifetime
20:convergence, what it all means together
21:resolutions
4,8,12,16: most recent life
1,5,9,13: second most recent life
2,6,10,14: third most recent life
3,7,11,15: farthest lifetime (4th)
You can add up 13-16 and 20 to get 21 also.

rainwolf, that looks like a very in depth spread. I'll have to try it sometime, see what comes up in it. I did a past life reading once using a CC spread. I wasn't able to make much sense out of it, except for the possibility of my living during the Great Depression, and that was an iffy interpretation.

Hmmm- try this spread, i think it will be better. For a quick explanation, each life should have characteristics that you have in this life, however the most recent life is more influential, and the last life has a few noticable traits in this life. Its a pretty easy spread i think...its just kinda big. OOOOH! Look out for the 78 card spread i will post tomorrow or wednesday hopefully! Its going to be long....

It depends on what you want - a light hearted look at the past or an indepth reading.
I do past lives with the emphasis on how they impact on the present life. I don't believe that there is a specific deck but rather the deck that calls to you is the one to use. The spread I use with an example reading is here.
