King of Pentacles.....grrr

Hello~ I'm taking a Tarot class and part of my homework for the week is to apply the King of Pentacles to my week somehow. We each had to ask the same question "What is the most important thing that will happen to me this week?" - then we drew a card (King of Pentacles was mine) . Before class tomorrow I have to somehow apply this card to the question. I keep looking for something King of Pentacle-ish to happen. Help :). Thank you p.s . If anyone from class is reading this -YES , I'm cheating. LOL.

Hey, Michelle.... Well, not to help you cheat, but when you look at the K/Pentacles, what or WHO do you see? I think one way to go about this is to think of a person in your life who is most like the King/Pentacles, and then think of what's important to them, how they deal with problems, that sort of thing. What would most likely happen to THEM this week, given all that? For example, I have a relative who's very King of Pentacles. When I visit him the one thing he talks about is good investments. And not just making money, but saving it, spending it wisely. That's not all there is to him, he's also down to earth, rarely abstract, likes home comforts, is in control and works hard...you get the idea. If I got this card when asked the question, "What will happen to me this week?"--I'd assume that I was about to go shopping and save money on something really good :D So who's the King of Pentacles in your life--and what will happen to you this week knowing what he's like?

When the king of pentacles appears with my spreads he usually comes in as a homely down to earth type person. This can also mean the man or a man who is within my boundaries, and sometimes it has more to do with the real estate Im in - like my home or if Im moving or have to deal with something to do with the property - like a real estate connection. Dads figure largely. And usually about tangiable things like money - as Thirteen says; and they can give good counsel when prompted. Have any of these situations come up for you? Hope this helps. Last night i did a reading for a woman, and when i was done, i had her pick up all the cards, shuffle them (the ones in the reading) and draw one which would be the most important one. It just so happened to be the king of wands, which represented her husband in that reading. They had just had a divorce a few years ago, and things were finally starting to die down. I was unsure of how to apply it exactly as the "most important card" so i asked her to think about it, and describe what the king was feeling in context. She replied that he was calm and not bothered and that she felt the situation was sitting alright with him. I then asked her how this made her feel, and if she herself was ok with that feeling. Just prior to picking the card, she proceeded to tell me a story of a very deep experience, and after all of this, she felt very satisfied, and complete. I hope this may offer a way of looking at that king-i didnt give you an answer, but i hopefully gave you a direction...:) PS: check out "understanding the tarot court" by greer and little

Thank you all for your help :). I'm off to class in a few minutes - but will reply to each of you when I get home. You have each given me great advice and insight. It's funny that my first weekly draw (in class) was a court card - those are the ones that I struggle with. Your posts have made me realize I may need to look at them in a different way...not quite so literally. Just a thought, but we ordered my daughters class ring on Wednesday - could this be considered an investment ? I know...I'm really stretching on this one. Thank you !!

I think that's a stretch for a KING of pentacles. Were it a Page of Pentacles, or perhaps Page of Cups (cups are about pretty, nostolgic things like class rings), that would be more likely. With a King of Pentacles, you're looking for something like re-financing your mortgage at a really great rate, that's the sort of thing the King would do.

I could relate it to how a king of pentacles would prefer to have a lavish and rich appearance. Maybe you thought you were stretching in a wrong way...i thought right off you could make a good connection-good job!

Hello again - I apologize for taking so long to return to this thread. We have been passing scarlet fever and strep throat around my house - I think we are finally all healed and life can return to normal. Well, when we discussed my King in class we came to the conclusion that perhaps it just didn't pertain to my week. The closest I came to applying it was the purchase of a class ring (thank you Rainwolf for your vote of confidence :) ). I really had no major financial issues that particular week. I always saw the King as you have each described him and thought he applied to my husband in general - one who always stays on top of finances , makes sure the bills are paid, etc. However, the instructor said that the King of Pentacles is not necessarily good with money. While hubby can be a spender - he is not irresponsible with money. Now I'm just more frustrated. I have got to find a way to get a grip on the court cards. Thank you all for your help - I'm amazed at the vast amount of knowledge that is shared here.

Hi Helvetica, All 4 of my daughters have been ill and this definitely affects me. Also, my husband (who to me is this particular card) is focusing on health issues right now. Thank you for the insight :). Maybe this card wasn't about me at all.
