As someone very new to reading Tarot please forgive the lack of depth in this inquiry. If one Tarot deck is used for a specific reading then another deck is chosen to do a reading of the same inquiry what makes one more valid than the other?

I wouldnt say either one would be more important than the other, maybe just a different way of giving you the message.
I find different decks have different languages and personalities so depending on the is the type of answer you would get. Also based on past experiance you will probably get the same answer just in a different way.

Either one is more valid thatn the other, somehow the cards will give a message that perhaps you can't see or understand. if you did two readings using different decks about the same situation i think that tarot would give you a message about your situation, perhaps more inside of the situation that wasn't as important for you to know as the one you received in the first reading.

If one Tarot deck is used for a specific reading then another deck is chosen to do a reading of the same inquiry what makes one more valid than the other? Your intentions make one deck more valid than the other.
The specific reasons for choosing to make the same inquiry,
even your selection of which decks to use, just as much as
the inquiry you have chosen to make, and seek to validate.
Are you thinking about getting a deck, or adding a second?

I think I may be confusing you. I really only wished to clearify something in my seeking. If I intend to have a valid reading for say a future in art? is there any reasion I should chose one type of deck over another to have a reality come clear?

Then it may be like if you were going to paint a picture.
Every choice you make up to the very first brushstroke,
is just as significant to the final results as what follows.

So what you're asking is why pick one deck over another for a particular reading? Because Fulgour makes a good point--you shouldn't need to ask the question more than once.
So why pick one deck over another? Instinct, feeling, time of year, time of day, the question itself, the zodiac sign of the querent or reader....you decide.

I'd just choose the deck I'm most confident of reading with. You'll get the best answer from a deck you're comfortable with, I'm sure. If you choose another deck that you're less comfortable or familiar with, you'll have more trouble understanding the answers you get.

Excellent advice unless, of course, the person is comfortable with both decks. As the owner of several decks, I can say that there are at least three that I'd consider equally comfortable to use--that is, the three that seem to give me the best readings.
How I'd decide which of those three to use would really depend on my mood, the question or even the time of year. Right now, for example, I might choose a deck with brighter, spring-time colors rather than the one with darker colors that I'd been using during the winter.

All of your experiences have deen very enlightening and helps answer the question I have had. I will continue to experiment with other decks and to see if one "feels" a better fit than another. Thank you for your input to my question.

Have you ever tried using 2 different decks in the same reading?
For example, you lay out your cards in the spread you normally use with the first deck, then use the second deck in the same fashion laying them next to the first deck. It's incredible, and you'll be amazed at how many double pairs of the same card pop up which to me tells me the most "important issues or advice". Seeing the same cards lying next to eachother but from 2 different decks is awesome...this works best using majors only for me.
Or what I usually do is...do the spread with the majors only first from one deck...then to clarify I take the MINORS from another deck and lay them next to the majors. It's awesome.
Has anyone else ever tried this?

I have not done it in this way but have read Yi against Tarot with very satisfying results and a parallel which was astounding.

Sorry to throw you off, it is the devination of I Ching I speak of here and the Yi is the wisdom of asking the question and receiving the answer from the oricle. I have been useing it for only 6 months but its wisdom is circumspect but very esoteric in it's nature. I am still practicing with others on another sight. Sorry about the confusion.
