Ive recently met another guy who also happens to read Tarot Cards (We met via something totally not connected in any way with Tarot at all... Which was a bit spooky) And we've talked a lot about it since.
He mentioned "cards that follow you around" - And how he used to have a lot of trouble with The Tower card, always coming up in spreads, both his personal reading and readings for others, and knowing the card wasn't meant for the Querrent and meant for him - For weeks on end. And asked me if I have ever had any...
Well, I haven't been doing it long enough to notice anything like that...
I think...
But have any of you experienced anything like that? Cards that simply wont quit bugging you and cropping up?

Yes, it often means that stage in your life you are still in, go thruw (when it passes down positions) or need to work on.
This can also be about unresolved issues or a new erea or stage in your life.

I've noticed this only recently and I don't think I can read for others with my RWS anymore, which is a shame :( . Did a reading for a friend the other day and it was 'like' oops I think that ones for me. Sorry! Perhaps try the deck cleansing rituals before you read for others. Just a thought...
I still get 'haunted' by the King of Cups and I was playing a game of cards with friends a few weeks ago and everytime it was my turn to shuffle King of Hearts (the equivilant) popped out. I ended up just cracking up:laugh: , to me it was hilarious, my friends probably thought I was nuts though!! :D In saying that then I have just really null and voided what I said above, maybe it doesn't matter, when they pop up they pop up whether you like it or not, until you 'get' whatever it is they are trying to say.

Yes, I'm afraid I can't use my Universal Waite because the King of Wands refuses to sit down! He comes up in EVERY READING, even single card draws. It's really annoying. I've examined the card and it's not cause it's bent or anything like that.
I suspect it's because the deck actually belongs to my husband who doesn't read tarot anymore. So I tried to adopt the deck, but it just seems to say, "I don't want you -- I want Jason!!!" (as he is very King of Wands-ish.)
So I guess I have to go buy my own copy of the deck. :( Which is a shame, as I have RWS derivatives, but no actual RWS clones other than Jason's Universal.
BTW, the King of Wands hardly ever appears in my other decks, so I don't think his constant appearance in the Universal Waite is because I need to develop the energy of that card. This only happens in the one deck. I've tried cleansing it, to no avail.

King of Cups, and the High Priestess. =]
They both show up to remind that I need to stay grounded and true to myself.

I don't have many problems with a card following me; I do have a repeating occurence with elemental spreads - a Cup court in Water positions, a Swords court in Fire positions, and so on, multiple times in the same spread. (I always read Sword = Fire unless it's obviously different in the deck.) Oddly enough, it's only lately that this has been happening. Never happened when I was just dabbling all those years.
At any rate, I usually read them as emphasis on the messages of the position and card. :)

Death...whether I'm reading for myself or someone else is reading me, #13 usually crosses my path.
And Aces...usually Ace of Cups and Ace of Swords.
And the High Priestess.

Lately for me it's been The Tower and Death.

At the moment Death and knight of wands.
Before this I was in a Tower fase. Luckily that is over now, because it didn't predict a good thing.

For the past couple of days I have had the 6 of cups, star, temperance and hermit keep coming up quite a bit. It was so cool that you posted this thread because I was just telling a few people about my situation today. :)

I'm having the Wheel of Fortune, 8 of wands (for a long time!), and The Hierophant following me... But most of my questions are related to one subject only so it probably concerns a situation more then me directly.

Oh yes. At one stage I felt the 9 of Swords was stalking me!
And in another phase it was the King of Wands - had a dream about it, and then viola, I shuffle my deck in the morning and it falls out.
I think these cards follow us for a reason - kind of ike a nagging spouse heh

Lately the 2 of cups gets in every one of my readings. Most would be happy, I´m annoyed because I still have no clue what it wants to tell me.

The Tower and the King of Wands have been following me for a while now.
I have had a couple of "mini" tower experiences, but I can't figure out the King of Wands at the moment.
Sue x
PS. I also keep getting Heirophant in the outcome of my readings - and I'm not about to get married! I'm thinking this could be help from a large institution, and I have made some benefit claims recently. I am hoping this will be positive !

I get Strength quite often in my readings, and I can't figure it out.
Is it telling me that I am going to have to be brave when I meet with opposition, thus it is a negative card.. ? or does it tell me that I am strong enough to take anything or to make anything for that matter. I am not sure what to think of it.
And like Psychic sue I am also having the Hierophant show up in a few of my recent readings. I quite like him, except when he is reversed, then I am not quite sure what to think of him.
And that Ace of Swords, I still have mixed feelings about it; I know all aces are supposed to be new beginnings, but not quite sure what kind of beginning to expect with this one, especially when my readings have nothing to do with thinking per ce but have more emotional and/or physical overtones to them.

I was stalked a couple of weeks ago by the King of Pentacles. I've realized he's sort of two people in my life, and was showing up in different spreads in different ways depending upon which person he was appearing as (upright for one fellow, Rx for the other most of the time -- which is why it was so confusing). The reason he stalked me (and is still showing up now and then), I think, is to help me think about why it is so many important men in my life are like the King of Pentacles. I seem very drawn to them.
But the three cards that seem to be keeping me company a lot a lot right now are the Queen of Pents, the Page of Wands and the High Priestess Rx... All these court cards. Honestly, I prefer to be stalked by Major Arcana so I was relieved to see the High Priestess Rx... Sort of. ;) I don't know what's up -- I figure I'll figure it out as I go, but I think the configuration is interesting. And others have pulled them, too, when doing readings for me, so I don't think it's just my deck!

I get the 4 of Swords when I'm stressed or overworked lol - It started with the Spiral tarot and for just over a month I got it in every single reading, at least once a day - its not happening so often now but I've come to terms with this card and I use it as a reminder slow down and take a break.
Its never happened to me before and it worried me that I should keep getting this card but I'm ok with it now. :)

I've had this situation before. For about eighteen months, the 3 of swords came up in readings for me, whether I did them or someone else did them. I got so tired of seeing that card! When the card was no longer relevant to my life, it stopped coming up.

It doesn't show up in readings I do for others, just in the readings I do for me. AND it shows up almost EVERY SINGLE time -- The Eight of Cups. Been doing that for weeks now. I know what it's telling me...move on with my life, forget my ex. Forget him, go, cut my losses.

Oh yeah---
I get 8 of Swords a lot.
And back when I first started I got the 10 of Swords in my daily draw 4 days in a row! That freaked me out enough that I posted here about it. I finally decided the cards were reflecting a literal pain in my back and neck. I had pulled a muscle exercising. When the pain faded, the card stopped showing up.
Weird, huh?
Blessings,
Denise
