Hi Everyone!!
Ok. I am just trying to understand the different ways that one can interpret the knight of cups card in different card placements. For example, If a knight of cups came up in the position of how someone is feeling in a relationship, would this mean he is not ready to settle down..etc. and if it comes up in the position of how someone regards the relationship would this now mean he regards it with great love?
I hope I made this clear.
Thanks for any insights!!

I've always seen the Knight of Cups as a romantic, a bit of a depressed romantic, but a romantic. You're right also that Knights are wanderers. In the position of how someone was feeling, it would meant that the person, yes, probably doesn't want to settle down yet. Likely he wants either to prove his love or have the love proved more to him. He might, in fact, have lost in love in the past and be a little gun shy. He seeks evidence that this is real, that he won't be hurt again.

so, would this interpretation change for someone if they viewed the whole love relationship as the knight of cups instead of being the actual knight of cups? Would they view the relationship now with strong love?
thanks so much,

So what you're saying is that is it different if you ask, "What's this relationship all about?" and got the Knight of Cups--rather than who's this person and got the Knight of Cups?
Yes, the interpetation would change a bit--as with that question it comes to be about what the Knight of Cups symbolizes or is about rather than being the Knight of Cups. If the Knight of Cups is a person searching for Love, like a romantic teenager (think Romeo from Romeo and Juliet)--then what the Knight of Cups symbolizes is youthful romance with all it's yearnings, pitfalls, bad poetry, restlessness, depression/elation, etc.
I would say in that instance that the cards would be telling a person that the relationship has not yet moved into Queen/Cups or King/Cups maturity or stablity. It's at the "thinking too much about it" stage.
Crowley pinned Knights as "Air" and "Air" as the mind. So you think about Love, about the person you love, you worry, fret, analyze, take apart. Every little move they make you wonder about--What does that mean? You write to them, you ask your friends about them "Do you think they really like me?" Put it another way, you have "new relationship" smell (like a new car). You think too hard about holding their hand, kissing them, saying nice things to them, giving them the right gift.
A mature Love doesn't have to think about these things. The Queen is absolutely confident that her intuitive waters know what the person needs--she doesn't think, she emotes, she gives. She pours out those feelings whenever they're needed. And the King, he acts. His fire warms those waters; it doesn't matter to him what they think or he thinks, so long as he can do things for them, be there for them.
Does that work?

Thank you once again Thirteen for making that 100% clear to me. Your explainations are always sooo clear. :-) Thanks so much!
