Readings concerning future scenarios

Hello... I just wanted to know if the cards can be used to see what possible future scenarios might have in store? For example if someone wants to know how things will be like in a new job, in a relationship, in any decision making process, or to find out where certain decisions might lead to? I know this might seem like a question begging an obvious response, but I want to know if the cards can be used for this and provide an accurate picture of possible future events which you are considering? Absolutely I believe the cards can show us possible futures. Of course the actual future events are up to us and other people involved, our choices, their choices. But the cards can show possible scenarios that we maybe haven't considered all aspects to. Kind of like the saying, "Be careful of what you wish for, you just might get it," tarot can show us what getting it might be like and the attending difficulties that might accompany such a wish. I like the decision spreads that fork out in two possible directions showing two different options and the outcomes for each. I think as long as we understand that our futures are never set in stone and our fate lies in our own hands, the predictive nature of tarot is tremedously useful for thoughtful planning of our next steps not because a future has already been predicted but because we have, to the best of our ability with the use of tarot, thought through the possible outcomes and steps to getting where we want to go. ~Mercy

One of my favorite questions for the tarot is: What would the outcome be if I ....? So far it's been a great help in some of my decision making. Of course I don't always like the answer, but it is THE TRUTH!!! And a good idea for me to pay attention to.
