This may sound really weird, or stupid, but I've been involved with tarot for about 5 years now, and was always up to something, be it a daily reading or reading books avidly. All of a sudden, I feel scared for want of a better word, of the cards, like I can't communicate with them, or that I'm frightened that I won't understand any messages, like they'll be speaking a different language.
The only time I had this before was when I was pregnant, and I'm definitely not that this time!
What do you guys suggest I do to get back to my beloved cards?

Just a hunch but... maybe try laying your
spreads out face-down and meditating...
before thoughtfully turning each one over.

Just shuffle them while staring out the window and just daze and soon enough you'll come to wonder about something. That's what you should do to get back with them I think. Plus, there are a whole lot of threads that are like this that you can check out for more ideas.

Hi
you may just need a break for a day or two (or even a week). Have you tried putting them down for a while or even exchanging decks to see if this situation improves

Reading tarot uses the intuitive side of our brain, which is also the creative- thinking side. I think it just needs a break sometimes, just like writers and artists get depleted from a long creative stretch. We have to nurture our intuition by doing things that stimulate it and put back into it because if it's all outgo and not enough input we feel like we've got nothing left.

And don't sweat it! You're fine, and you're not broken. :) Do by-the-book readings if you like, and don't worry about messing it up.

A Break will help, you might be tired. But also: is there something you don't want to think about right now? that you are afraid will rise up if you read the cards? can someone else maybe do a reading for you and see what is bothering you?
(I am offering if you want.)

You guys are sooo right, I have needed a break, possibly not as long as it has been, but I am coming back round to things now, and actually wanting to mingle with my cards again, rather than being frightened of them!
Ace, I think you are right, I turned 30 the other day, and since then I've been able to feel more positive about the cards, I can't believe that I was hung up about it so much that I blocked areas of my life that are really important to me! I still feel a little 'lost' in a way, that I have 10 years in front of me and I want to continue achieving in my 30's and not let them pass me by. I feel I want change but don't know what to change to, especially career...have been teaching for 6 yrs now, and just want to avoid rut situations.
In short, just don't want to turn into my parents!!! It's a worry...
I'd love a reading if you are up 4 it, just let me know if you need to know anything about me if you want to choose a significator. Am a bleached-white punky looking blonde taurean... if that helps!!!!
Anyway, thanks to everyone who replied, me and the cards are smiling at each other, just not talking yet as have realised I'm a bit lost!!
Now where did I put myself.........???

I don't do astrology, or usually use significators so neither matter. Do you want it here or as a PM? and exactly what should we ask? I assume you have career issues, so I can start there. Again, PM or here?
