When you look at card(s) and suddenly KNOW what they mean, do you have any kind of physical signal in your body or outside of it as well? Like cold shiver or warm feeling in the gut?

I sometimes have emotions without memories or thoughts linked to them.
One AT member can make me cry without me knowing why. (I won't give you the name)

Hi JTTMY,
Yes, sometimes I have an emotional reaction and sometimes a physical one.
Emotionally, I might have a sense of happiness - I may smile or laugh, or I may become quite serious. I have had tears well up in my eyes and I have felt deep compassion and also anger. Funnily enough, (not always but sometimes) I may feel very nervous and jittering - I've learnt that thats the feeling when I am spot on. Now that feeling doesnt bother me since I worked out what it means. :)
Physically, (once again, this is only sometimes) my left shoulder and arm twitch! I've had headaches, or hot 'patches' on my body - this usually tells me of some area of problem for the client. I have had my ears popping, and my eyes go blurry.:)
Thank goodness these things dont all happen at once and at every reading (LOL). :)
Blessings

Sometimes I get goosebumps or a massive cold chill throughout my whole body.

I get a very passionate response, as in my mind works overtime suddenly, and the zeal to express what I can see so clearly in these abstract cards becomes overwhelming. It's like energy rising through me, and my entire body goes into uber-body language. My arms move around more often, more expressively, my facial expressions are less guarded, I do various sound effects, my eyes get intense and I just talk...
Somebody told me the other day that I'm at my most natural when I'm reading like this. Having written the above, I can see why they said that!

Thank you Emeraldgirl, snowy25, Elven, huredriel and Kiama for sharing your experiences. Interesting to understand what causing these involuntary reactions. Are they some kind of non-physical energy passing through? Unconscious reaction to what? Can these reactions caused by different tarot cards be mapped?

MM ~ I get something similar. I can feel my heart chakra open up and I just start rolling like I've had a few drinks. More often than not, I don't remember much of what I said. No wonder cards are so addictive! BB, Stella

Are they some kind of non-physical energy passing through? MM ~ I think so, but that would be hard to prove! Unconscious reaction to what? Being on the beam. Have you read any of Joseph Campbell's writings about peak moments? Can these reactions caused by different tarot cards be mapped? I don't know if there would be any reaction to just putting cards on a screen one by one and having a person sit there with sensors and the like. I think a "peak moment" reading would definitely show measurable changes in brain waves, blood pressure, etc. The eyes might dialate, breathing and heart rate might change...BB, Stella

No signals whatsoever, I just "know" if it's correct, without the need of any background into the situation.

I tend to know inside when I have hit on the right Tarot answer, but no physical sensations with Tarot.
I do sometimes have that "gut" feeling/reaction with my pendulum though and with decks only with my Faeries' Oracle. But then it is my deck I am most connected to and to them.

So I was just thinking of posting a new thread when I found this one.
"I can feel my heart chakra open up and I just start rolling like I've had a few drinks. More often than not, I don't remember much of what I said. No wonder cards are so addictive! BB, Stella"
thanks for the above statement Stella.
I was feeling kinda silly because someone had asked how you read the cards, and the truth is I can't really remember how a good reading (for someone else) goes. They just get started and I feel like I'm walking through a cloudy wood? or something. Then it's over and I'm being stared at by the querent. I think that's part of the reason I only read for good friends. When a good reading is over I remember what the cards said, but have no idea how I read them. I also tend to want to fall asleep on the spot.
Anyway, really glad to see how others respond physically and emotionally.

Ankou and Stella:
I always remember how I read, but as soon as the reading is over and the querent gone, I completely forget the reading. I often have querents coming back to me telling me my last reading was accurate, because when I said such and such, it was on the spot, and I just sit there staring blankly trying desperately to remember what cards came up! I tend to just smile, nod, and carry on. :D

Edited to add - there are a couple of exceptions, where the reading has amazed even me. Those readings I remember. The first reading I did for my fiancé I remember, the first reading I did for my best friend I remember; I also remember a couple of wonderful readings where peoples' lives looked sooo happt, and a couple of really traumatic readings. But beyond that, I forget.

I deffinately remember the gist of the reading and important cards and how they fell. I haven't really read for others in a while and I can still remember the outcomes, but I know I was clinging to my LWB at the time I just don't think I used it... even though I was new to the deck I read from and tarot in general... hmmm...

I've cried, loved, hated, been angry, jealous, happy, many emotions when I've done readings. I've burst into tears after laying down the first card.
I've often instinctively known the outcome of the reading after laying down just one card. I try to restrain myself from drawing any conclusions too early, but it seems that whenever I feel such a strong emotional reaction to a reading, the cards only echo what is already in my gut. This seems to happen a lot when I'm at a time in my life full of change and/or important decisions.
Just drawing the lovers card at the right time has made my insides quiver.

I have hot flushes when I "get it" [not premature menopause, i trust. and the reserve is preserved].

Well, I had times where I'd do readings for ymself, and the cards were so ironic that I'd be literally rolling on the floor laughing. :P Sometimes I'll put my hand over my mouth and gasp if a card isn't so funny or ironic, it's just so spot on it's freaky.
Also, as others have mentioned, I start going on and on when it gets good. The energy is quite amazing. :)
That's all I can think of at any rate!
Woodsorel, whoa. Was this by yourself or with a querrent? That'd be very interesting if it was with a querrent... o_O :P

If I say a phrase that has "hit the spot" I get what I call the Spirit Shivers. Like a goosebumps kind of feeling.
