Hello everyone!
I have come across a few spreads that have a position for "place", as in the place where a meeting or event can occur. Some cards would seem easy to associate a place to them, as in the four or five of Swords (a game, competion, etc.), the four of Wands (wedding, celebration) the three of Cups (out with friends, a party) and the eight of pentacles (place of school or work).
I pulled The Hermit and The Chariot for such a spread and I'm lost as these two cards, in combination, are supposed to describe a location. I tried looking at the imagery on the cards (I'm using the Spiral Deck) and the hermit looks as though he's on a rocky beach. He can also indicate a place of retreat. And, this sounds silly, but all I can think of when I look at the Chariot is "car dealer", LOL!
Any suggestions?
After I figure this one out I may go through my deck and try to feel a "location" for other cards. I think it would be sort of fun:-)
Thanks ~ January

I'm just taking a guess with the chariot. Maybe somewhere where there are cars. Like a derby, parking lot. The hermit I'll try and take a guess. I think that maybe it's talking about a library since everyone is so absorbed in what they are doing. The hermit might also be a place of relaxation or inner exploration. Maybe an art museam because people express themselves through art. Just taking a stab.

i don´t know how you put the cards on the table.
i use the 12 houses, but the majoraty use the celtic cross.
i ussualy interpet tis two cards side by side as a trip to a mystic or espiritual place, wher you´ll find the answers from you doubts. because the hermit is looking from espiritual answers. unfurtually i dindt discovery a good book of combination of tarot. but maybe i dont need, but i´m a litle prefecionist.
what you think about what i told you ( hermit and chariot)?

Maybe this is silly, but the first thing that came to mind for the Hermit and the Chariot for me was picking up a hitchhiker !

Thanks for your ideas. Parking lot. Library. Hitchhiker. All very cool! Kind of sounds like a Hitchcock flick, LOL! I'm a film student and big Hitchcock fan so perhaps this all makes sense. As long as i don't have to dial "M" for Murder
I'm posting the reading in "Your Readings" if you'd like to check it out.

WHAT IS A HITCHHIKER???? I think it only is used in the US not sure but it is someone (a stranger) that needs a ride somewhere for free. You find them on highways and Expressways with a sign saying where they want to go.

Ah...such thing exists every where. I must say that me, being a foreigner, did not know this word. In Brazil we call 'caroneiro' (in an informal way - i hardly believe there's a formal word for it), that means literally 'he who asks for a ride' :)
Ah...big nonsense!
