10 of pents indicating pregnancy

Hey all, my exams are over so Im back and active in aeclectic! I made a discovery a while back on the 10 of pents. I never wrote these readings, but I remember doing celtic crosses and relationship readings and getting the 10 of pents in outcomes in both cases. The first case, was about 6 months ago, the girl wanted to know her future with her man, would it work out, (they werent getting on very well), would they be together? I did a relationship spread, and the outcome was 10 of pents. She is now pregnant (5 months) and theyre still together, theyre not exactly happy families as they are very young, but its all good for now. The other case, was a friend of mine about 2 months ago, she is in love with a man whos in a different country, they got a bit fresh but it didnt really develop into a proper relationship. I did celtic cross and a relationship reading and in both cases there was the 10 of pents in the outcome. She called me 2 days ago to tell me she just then found out she was pregnant to him. She told him and wasnt too keen on the baby either. I know it has to do with surrounding cards aswell, but in both cases 10 of pents? What is this, extension of family which is not done willingly? Being together but only because you have to? Being held together by the kids? What do you lot think? Have you ever seen this before a pregnancy? xxxx cm

I rarely read for people, so pregnancy hasn't come up ... in fact if it did , for me, I'd end up in the Guiness book of records, being well and truly post-menopausal ... but, I have never had the 'happy families' feel that goes with the 10 of cups. For me there is always a heaviness about it ... a feeling of ... well this is what I created for my life ... and while I have the things I thought I wanted ... or society insisted I should want ... or some variation on that theme ... I guess I'd better just go along with it ... or get the hell out of dodge. You know, a 'I made my bed and I have to lie in it' kind of feeling. The surrounding cards would show, for me, if I would 'lie down' under the pressure, or cut and run. Well ... truly, I don't need the cards to tell me that one ... I'd cut and run ... but in a reading for someone else, I'd be looking for indicators of how the person was going to deal with it, and working with them on what they really wanted. mythos

Actuatly when the moon and the 10 of pentacles are togther i see pregnancy. But not a program pregnancy, is a suprise. The relashionship is paralize, a suprise will happen and the 10 of pentacles means a bigger patrimony. So sometimes whith some cards surrounding i see pregnancy.

Chubby Mummy: I have read 10-Pentacles as "in the family way", which is an old & tactful euphemism for someone being pregnant, & oft also associated with an "out of wedlock" pregnancy. The latter phrase usually used under delicate or uncertain circumstances--an unwed mother. It need not relate to the reception nor reaction by the respective biological fathers; however, it could indicate a need for the familial support. Or that the circumstance could result in such support. I would also look at the surrounding or preceding cards to see the circumstances.

I always think of 10 of Pents as coming into money in some way, the standard definitions might be inheritance or marrying into a wealthy family. In the case where the men don't marry the lady they conceived with, I'd say the 10 of pents indicates financial support from the man and also the opening up of his family to that child.

I actually remember thinking, hmmm what does this mean, deception, secrets??? I actually didnt even interpret it as anything because I didnt know how to explain it!! Meewah, you're right, the two girls Ive read for have slightly different circumstances, even though the thing they have in common is that they are unwed mothers. Thank you bibi, too, I think the 10 of pents has a whole different meaning to me now!! xx cm

Was the first time anyone did a reading for me. My friend did a reading, and came up with 10 of Pentacles, and looked at me and said, straight up, "Kate, you're going to have a baby by next year." I just looked at him, in stunned silence, and said, "And, I'd love to see that happen, considering I'm not dating anyone, and not doing that thing that leads to pregnancy." Well, sure enough, I got pregnant three months later. And my daughter, my only child, is a surprise baby, and I wasn't thrilled with being pregnant at first, and my ex-husband wasn't thrilled with it, either. The last time I saw a 10 of Pentacles? One of my friends had a reading done, and dragged me with her. She got the same card, and the reader told her that she'd have a baby within the next year. Turned out, she found out six weeks later that she was pregnant.....after she had dumped the loser she'd been dating. So, with my limited experience of two readings, looks like 10 of Pentacles can mean a surprise, and maybe unwelcome at first, pregnancy. But, what do I know? I'm here to learn, after all.

I've gotten that card a few times, four times indicating pregnancy and twice indicating an unwanted boon of some sort. If the pregancy was wanted then it was with the three of wands or the empress, if it was wanted and the moon if it wasn't. If it was an unwanted boon (windfall) then the card was in a position of loss and reversed (the windfall was with a loss of someone they loved and what they got wasn't something they could use or want). Once the ten of pentacles came up for me with the moon and I found out that it was me that was going to be pregnant when I was doing the reading for someone else, the ten came up in a position of 'what will affect them' and it was true, my daughter is going to be 20 this next month and she and I drifted apart after I became pregnant.
