Hi there, just wanted to share this...
For a long time I didn´t do daily readings and when I started it seemed like I had been right in my thinking that tarot can be too abstract to really be able to do a reading for something as practical and down-to-earth as a day in a life.
Still I kept trying until I was proved wrong, which happened some time ago with 2 readings.
I got The Star one day, and basically thought *Huh? Hope, follow my dreams, reach for higher self?* Little did I know, that day turned up a Star day for sure: I had a delay, and ended up pulling an all-nighter doing a paper for school. While dark, I was up, lights on both in my house and in my brain. It ocurred to me, if I took a picture of my neighborhood, my house, the only with the lights on, would pretty much look like a star, surrounded by less brighter stars (the streetlights) in the sky (or city in this case). Just as well, I was reaching for my higher self, thinking and analyzing, reaching for the light of wisdom and knowledge but with a twist to it: The consciousness of practical academic thought (light) which is usually reserved for day, done during the night, when unconscious (dark) knowledge and wisdom prevails while we dream.
When I went to bed at 10 am (I had to turn the paper in at 1pm), last thing on my mind was the Star.
Another day, another card: 3 of swords. I was surprised a and a little concerned to say the least. But I figured it out.
The three swords, three main activities in my day (but time for only one), and I was torn which way to go. I could go to work and do more hours, hence earn more for my savings for travel next year. I could also go to the martial arts exhibition my group was attending and participate. I could also go on the field trip planned for a class I´m taking.
I went on the field trip, it was important for class work and because there will be follow ups that would need the information gathered in the first trip. I could find another time to pull the hours at work, and exhibitions my group has at least 3 per month.
So there it was, my motivation (heart), and the three swords crossing.
That same night, there were also the plans (swords) for three different parties with friends (heart): two birthdays and the field trip class celebration.
So there it is, I wrote in case there´s anyone having trouble with daily cards. The influence can be so obvious it´s easy to miss.

Thank you for sharing. I sometimes have trouble with seeing the obvious, and so get lost in some far away land, so it was very good to read your take on cards.
Right here, right now and beautiful.

Sometimes I can have difficulty finding any meaning with some cards, while some cards all I have to look at it and something pops in to my mind straight away. I usually this first thought is more relevant, but to see other alternatives is not such a bad idea.
Edited to include this,
Especially for the daily cards, as you have only one, you don't have any cards for a point of reference, so to speak
