This king has been haunting me for the past few days. I've recently started daily reflective readings in the evening: a feminine card and a masculine card; the feminine representing that which I should gleam from the experiences and lessons I had that day; and the masculine representing that which I should apply to my life in the future for the days to come.
Two days ago I pulled the 5 of Swords for my feminine, and the King of Pent's for my masculine. Could he represent patience and acceptance in a time when others have the upper hand? Thoughts?
Then yesterday night I pulled the Moon for my Feminine and the King of Pent's again for my Masculine. Could it represent the need to stay grounded during a time of illusion or dreaming? Thoughts?
Moreover, I've noticed that over the last few days the King of Pent's has been at the top of the deck every time I do a cleansing shuffle...what does it all mean?

As you say, perhaps the King of Pentacles is advising that you need to be more grounded? It might be that you have been worrying about something, or caught up in a cycle of thought. The King of Pentacles might be advising you to look at the physical reality of the situation. The Moon might suggest some kind of sneaky activity going-on, as might the 5 of Swords. The King of Pentacles might then be advising you to keep grounded and focused, that way any sneaky-goings on will not evade your detection!
Would any of that make sense in your current situation?

Centaur,
Your insights to fit quite well. There are a few changes going on at work that are irritating me a lot--but I can't do a thing about it! Furthermore, this theme is kind of an every-day issue for me because I presently work at a Christian Book Store, and my "alternative" beliefs are always over-powered by the working environment. (By the way, I hate the expression: alternative religion or beliefs--one of those things that irritates me.)
More Thoughts?

I usually see the King of Pentacles as taking control of a situation--
I would see your 5 of Swords (a slinky/slithery Venus) and the Moon (Pisces/Neptune--a higher octave of Venus) as the feminine advising the Masculine King of Pentacles on creative strategies to keep a "grip" on the environment. Sort of like the biblical story of Joseph and Pharoah-- Joseph interprets Pharoah's dream of the skinny cows consuming the sleek ones--as seven years of plenty--then famine. Based on this, Pharoah is able to plot out the flow of the economy over the next 14 years.
Hope this is useful...

Earth of Earth.
Practical efforts bringing material success.
The 'Midas' touch.
Grounded, practical, pragmatic, stubborn, territorial and hard-working.
Could be a successful businessman or a professional.
He must be able to feel and touch success.
Like the rest of the Pentacle family he enjoys material things; food, drink, luxuries.
He always fulfils his commitments.
Takes his responsibilities seriously.
Not as adventurous as the Wand King, as creative as the Cups King or as clear thinking and intellectual as the Sword King.
Takes a 'hands on' approach.
He's a 'do-er' not a thinker.
Hope that helps a bit.
Love
Sulis xx

I agree with Centaur that, the most probably, the King of Pentacles means in your apread the need of getting a more solid perspective on material issues, as this card have been taken as an advice. But i want to add another meaning for this card that haven't been mentioned here only for the sake of gathering the info.
This card also can represent real persons, but not in the usual sense of active (as the opposite of the receptive queens) or being the highest degree of the suit. It also can symbolize male persons which are in a process of development in their lifes or are dependant on other persons, like students, for example. This card only comes up as significator when any other suit can't define better the main character traints of the person, or the situation of development or dependance is more prominent in the life of this person.
