Has anyone had such a powerful reading from a particular deck that you get a block with the deck afterwards and just have to leave it alone for a spell?
I had this happen with my DruidCraft and I haven't been able to touch it since....
Anyone have this happen to them before?

I would guess that this is more about you than the deck.... that the reading was so powerful and need to 'sink in' before you do another reading (with any deck)...?!

Hi Nina :)
The reading wasn't for myself though...it was for someone else.
I'm not having much problem using other decks such as Robin Wood or Spiral...Just DC....

That's an understatement.....that reading took me places I didn't think I could reach.....it also completely drained me......to the extent that I had physical effects as well. But, why would I "feel" to leave the DC alone? I mean...I LOVE that deck....but I just can't bring myself to take it out of the wooden box that it's in.....I think about it.....a lot.....but it sits there. Like I said...I'm fine with the other decks I have....I dunno...it's very strange. I also just found out that the reading has affected the querant as well....it's quite ironic that we have both felt such a profound effect from this reading.
Thanks for trying to figure this out with me.

I've never had that, but I can only imagine I would react in the opposite way. (Of course we are all differernt) :-)
I think the more powerful readings I got with a deck, the more drawn to it and close to it I would feel.

I think it's an underlying fear in the subconcious that's just come out....at least I think so....

I have had to put decks away for a while after readings but mainly due to negative experiences with the querent not the reading. After a week or two they feel fine to use. It happens. I have made a little "Tarot Hospital" for these occasions. It's a white shoebox sized gift box and it has some diferent incense sticks and crystals in it to cleanse the decks. I also use it with new decks if nothing else it makes the decks smell pretty :)

It has happened to me, but it had nothing to do with the deck itself. There were times that after I had a particulary powerful reading, I left off reading for a while, once it was a few days, at other times a few months. but I really do not bleive that it has anything to do with the cards, they are only a tool, pictures on paper. Giving them consiousness is detrimental, in my opinion.

Wow, I'm a little envious of the powerful connection you had with your deck. ;) Maybe this isn't the greatest comparison, but my impression of it is that it's kinda like going on a bit of a tequila binge, having a great night out, meeting tons of people, and having a hang over the next day. You might go out drinking again the next night, but choose to stick to beer instead for the next little while, even though you really enjoyed the tequilla.

LOL...well....this chicky has been sticking to the "beer" lately and has no idea when she will be lookin' for the worm at the bottom of the bottle of tequila again anytime soon.
