One approach when you are first starting out is not to even read as reversals. Read all the cards as if they are right side up. Just get to know the cards and enjoy your thoughts and feelings. You may or may not want to use refersals later. Just a thought. Good luck.

Is it possible you're holding your deck upside down?
I always look at the bottom card to orient the deck before I lay out the cards. ;)

What method are you using to shufflie the cards? Maybe you could experiment, and see if shuffling them a different way would help?

If you insist on using reversals, then it would be a good idea to see if the botton card is upright, and then it'll all go as a free throw. However, don't force it. if you do not feel comfortable using them at this time, then thats perfectly all right. I never use reversals, I have never seen the use of them. If I see that a card is reversed I just turn it over.

my take is any way that feels right and comfortable to you is the right way. As in most thing Tarot! ;) But that's my take!

Agree.
Priya, reversal doesn't necessarily mean bad things, why you're bothered? If you really don't like it or feel uncomfortable when reading reversal, you can read it as upright.
