This should probably go in Chat, but in the new movie, Bewitched, with Nicole Kidman as Samantha, she uses a Wheel of Fortune card as a credit card in Bed, Bath & Beyond (homegoods store, for those who don't have them).
Could I try that?
It looks like a Marseilles card, with the X number clearly on the top.
Check out the trailer on the movie site, you'll see (it's toward the end when she and Michael Cain are in the store):

Might as well give it a go! By the way I'd tried you suggestion about releasing energies down into the ground on my break in my tarot night last night. It worked wonders!! No problems getting to the gym. Thanks, EAB.

That's great, I'm glad it worked for you.
Now if I take my tarot decks into shops and start sliding cards through the charge machine, I wonder if they'd notice!

Honestly, I'm pretty sure it won't work. ;) But hey, might be fun! Imagine the attention. "Ooh a witch!". Hehe.

I just watched it. sigh. It started as a Wheel of Fortune as she started to swipe it, but by the time she got the bottom it was a real credit card. Now just try doing that. :(
Besides, I think I would use the 4 of coins or something from the coins suit.

I would use a smaller card, like Hanson Roberts. :) Try it! It just may work!! heehee

Someone at a self serve gas station last fall found out if you swiped your drivers license instead of the 'fill card' that you'd be able to pump gas--about 20 people did it till the police were called. They got the ones via the security cameras (got the plate numbers) so everybody got fines. Nobody thought it would work, but with that system it did! So who's to know about tarot cards, hey?

That's why that new national ID card in the states is going to have many problems. I'm just waiting to see who hacks it first.

Here in the UK the Government is trying to get the go ahead on ID cards here too - I once worked for a firm that gave you full ID cards as part of the employment - It worked out easier, instead of having to show bills, passport or birth certificate for proof of identity - it was just this one card.
I miss my ID but had to have it destroyed when I left my employment, but I think they make life easier.

Hey, I've seen the trailor, but I really didn't notice that she used the wheel of fortune as a credit card. That would be neat, though..lol Look at the interest you would save. Cool!

These are not the droids you're looking for. (waves hand symbolically)
})
Seems to me it would only work on the simple minded....

gets me wondering:
which cards do represent credit?
I'd expect the karmically inclined pips like the six of cups would suffice--
maybe the eight of pentacles--which is about smart ways to utilize your resources... though I don't know if I'd call most modern day credit "smart"-- I think the karmic models are much more sophisticated...

Yea, there's a few faulty card systems around. Burswood casino's drink vending machines accept any card - it was intended to take a Burswood card of some sort, but people started take advantage of it with any card (paper or plastic). It hasn't been removed since, I'm sure it's of little concern.
Maybe a casino would be a more appropriate place to 'test your fortune'.
Note: I don't condone gambling and would suggest you don't try this :)

In traditional RWS imagery, maybe 4 pentacles because the guy is holding onto his coins instead of spending them now?
Which is different from using credit if you have no coins. Then maybe the 2 pentacles, juggling finances?

With the amount of cards my parents get (and throw away) we'd be able to have a nice sized deck of credit cards!!

Hmm, I've been getting those blank 'your name/business name here' cardboard fake credit cards in the mail. I wonder if those would work as tarot as well? I think I've got about 6 of them so far.
