Zigeuner Wahrsage-Karten

Bumpy_Boo

:) Hi, everyone
I haven't tried a new deck in a while. I was browsing online and decided to order a pack called the Zigeuner Wahrsage-Karten. They seem different, they look kind of like a cross between Lenormand style cards and Oracle Dessuart. Does anybody have any experience with this deck? :) If so, I would love to hear from you.

Many blessings,
Bumpy Boo

I think the images are basically the same as the Cigany Kartya. I've had that deck for a while now but haven't done many readings with it. Mine didn't come with much in the way of instructions, so I'm having some difficulty understanding the range of meanings of each card. In spite of that, the few readings I've done have been quite accurate.

Do let me know how you like these cards. :)

Aw, thank you very much, that is a great help :D
I will certainly let you know how I get on, Caristia! I will be waiting patiently by the door every morning like a puppy till they get here haha :)

You're quite welcome. :)

Forgot to mention that mine don't have suits like the Lenormand. If yours are the ones I'm thinking of (Piatnik) then they won't either.

I'm hoping that somebody with more experience will drop in.

Thats right, they don't have suits, just a picture and keyword. You have been a great help, I did search the forum, but it was hard to find a thread by someone who didn't already know what they were talking about, I was confused by some of what they were saying, because I am unfamiliar with the cards. So thank you! :)

They're here! Very impressed, instantly liked the cards. They are very easy to interpret, once you understand that the keyword is only a guide, and that the cards are more about concepts than literal interpretation.

I have been experimenting with layouts all morning, from the ones in the booklet provided to tarot/oracle layouts. I'm finding that they are really quite versatile :)

I'm so glad you like them. :)

You got a booklet? What's it like? Is it a real LWB? Mine just came with a single sheet of "instructions" in 4 languages which basically consisted of 3 spreads, none of which seemed very clear to me.

I may have been a little liberal with the term 'booklet'...by which i meant crappy unhelpful leaflet, just like yours ;)

Cigany Kartya, there it is, right on the box! Is there a difference between Cigany Kartya and Zigeuner WahrsageKarten? They look like slightly different versions of the same deck :) Am really enjoying working with them though!

Yes, that's a pretty good description. :)

I'm surprised - I just assumed you had the Piatnik deck.

I've never seen the Zigeuner WahrsageKarten in person, but my understanding is:
- The CK is printed in Hungary; the ZW is published in Austria by Piatnik
- The CK's cardstock is rather flimsy; the ZW's cardstock is much higher quality
- The images on both decks are basically the same if not identical
- The CK has what has been described as a "cartoonish gypsy" on the back; the ZW has zodiac symbols on the back
- The CK comes with a "crappy unhelpful leaflet" (description courtesy of Bumpy_Boo :)); no idea what type of LWB (if any) is included with the ZW

Here are some scans of the ZW that include one of the back:

I'm glad you're enjoying yours. I've hit a bit of a roadblock with mine. I'd love to hear more about how you're learning to interpret yours if you don't mind. I think that might belong in the Oracle Study forum, though...
