Beginning with the 2-1-3 Spread for the Central Draw,
the 4th card is placed in the Foundation position which
is an essence of four. The 5th card now is the crossing
card, here named Temptation. The 6th card, Generation,
also reflects the powers of the number six. Finally, the
position meanings for cards 7-8-9-10 also represents
some of their potential basic numerological vibrations.

I've had a go at this spread today Fulgour (as promised) and it proved to delve deeply for me, as the Celtic Cross usually does. But I like the numerology connection in this one.

I thought at first that I may have a little difficulty with the one word position meanings, but when I got down to it they actually proved to be an advantage as I was able to elaborate on the words and use some of my own more familiar ones as well (but similar numerology). I am still trying to evolve the way I read with the Marseilles deck and it's variations (in this case my new Bologna) :) but this has been a good spread in, not only answering a question (which was just for practice and not a serious one) but to get to know the deck also.

Quality is the key ingredient when interpreting numbers,
with quantity being useful in other ways, as associations.

One through nine are the essential, core numbers, with a
higher number usually being reduced to this basic group.

The following keywords are the ones I like best, taken from
the many available, or my own choices as being appropriate.

One
Beginnings, Independent, Leadership, Pioneering,
Initiator, Solitary, Obstinate

Two
Partnering, Cooperation, Mediating, Diplomatic,
Balanced, Tactful, Submissive

Three
Expressive, Creative, Imaginative, Joyous, Sociable,
Gregarious, Talkative

Four
Stability, Reliable, Practical, Foundations,
Tradition, Labouring, Predictable

Five
Expansive, Changing, Learning, Restless,
Exploring, Adventurous, Reckless

Six
Nurturing, Protective, Responsible, Domestic,
Community, Sympathetic, Fastidious

Seven
Analytical, Thinking, Understanding, Knowledge,
Visionary, Mysterious, Idiosyncratic

Eight
Authority, Power, Status, Organized,
Efficient, Energetic, Materialistic

Nine
Accomplished, Perfected, Complete, Humanitarian,
Generous, Charitable, Patronizing

augursWell

I don't use the Celtic Cross at all so I nearly skipped over this, would have been a mistake.

This spread makes much more sense to me especially with the numeric positions correlating with numeric meanings.

augursWell

I'm having a little trouble with 3) Prospect and 6) Generation.

I guess "prospect" is sort of outlook or future?

But number 6 has me stumped. :(

Direction rather than Definition

If you look at what most books say about the card
in this position (whenever it appears when drawn),
it is usually called Future with some qualifications.

The Future card is usually said to only represent
the future "if" we continue our course unchanged.

I chose Prospect (singular) to reflect the direction
events are tending toward, and not as a definitive
indicator of a possible but changeable future idea.
But if you get right down to it, it's about the same.

...number 6 has me stumped.
Where I have card 6 here, is often where card 3 goes
in a standard Celtic Cross, and it's not very different
when understood as part of a three-fold development.
"This is Above" we often here of this card's position.

Generation was probably the wrong :( word to choose,
but at the time it seemed perfect, but I can see how it's
confusing. Generation is what is generated by the cards
so far. 1 through 5 as revelations, will when combined
be seen to generate what is now revealed by the sixth.

We often find that all the good words are taken already,
like if you say "psychic" your stuck with lots of baggage.
So maybe what I thought I knew could be better said:

"Generation" is like the Flower in the Vase of the Cross.

augursWell

"Generation" is like the Flower in the Vase of the Cross.
Thanks, that makes it much clearer to me, really it does.

I just wanted to say that I do hope everyone
realises that my name for this spread is in fun.
