We have already begun filming in California and Sicily, coastal scenes, etc. We will film with the cast June 1-10 in an undisclosed location. People seem to think it is an impossible feat. All I can say is--we are ahead of schedule and time will tell if we meet all of our goals and expectations. The movie will be released on December 1, 2007 which is the 60th anniversary of Crowley's death.

This does sound interesting. You have already begun filming in Ca. and Sicily (and I assume will continue to do so?) Yet filming with cast is seperate over 10 days. Is it all blue screen for the cast and you are going to patch the scenery in in post prod.?

And it is a comedy you said? Hmmmmm ... a comedy!!???

I wonder why such a great story with such potential is a comedy? Or perhaps you can manage to capture the other aspects AND make it a comedy?

I guess we wont know until the film is finished and released so we can see it.

I'm sure, whether it's good or bad, every Thelemite and anyone with an interest in the occult will watch it at least once.

Fortunately, we have money for the project. ..so if the shooting goes over 10 days, no big deal. The film is the focus, not the number of shooting days.

Just an update. We have all of our site locations locked and loaded. We are shooting with four cameras, this is one way we will be filming quickly. All of our filming June 1-10 are interior, so very little set up. Exterior scenes will be blended into the movie. We have an excellent cast including award winning director, and an absolutely brilliant film editor at http://imdb.com/name/nm2372287/
We are doing wardrobe on Saturday and going over script revisions. Yes, indeed, a dark comedy---anyone who has researched the Abbey inhabitants know they were witty as hell!

I don't see how a film about AC could not have comedic elements. This is the man who solemnly declares Mind is a disease of semen in The Book of Lies, one of the few passages in any book that has made me laugh out loud. He was a born trickster (among many other things of course).

Abbey OF Thelema Movie Update May 15th

Just an update on the Abbey Of Thelema film. First, we do use Tarot cards to help provide direction. I also use a form of Magick developed by Mrs. John Le Breton for guidance.

We have our shooting locations for our interior shots secured. Our filming in Sicily and California is complete. Our filming in St Louis begins June 1 and ends June 10th. We are shooting sixteen hours a day with three cameras for closeups, medium shots and long shots. We are doing everything in three takes...if the take sucks---it will be editited out--no prisoners baby!

We have a very dedicated award winning Horror Film director named J Grimm. We have a very talented lighting grip person and an extremely gifted film editor and a damn fool as the producer.
