Eight of cups REVERSED.

fourofswords

Hello everyone )

I am new to aeclectic and excited to be here, but have much to learn, so hope y'all will be forthcoming with your tarot insights!.

I've been feeling quite unwell the past few days, with almost constant nausea and headache and fatigue. I caught the sun badly over the past weekend and got quite burnt, so wondered if the tarot might tell me with one card what my current state of health is.

I pulled the eight of cups reversed.

Now I'm not clever with reversal's but think that it is one to take more notice of then if it were upright, especially in relation to health (?).

Given that the card is cups, might this be referring to a more mental/emotional health issue then physical symptoms?.
Admittedly, I have been feeling quite 'low' in myself, but thought this was the result of just feeling lousy!.

Any thoughts on this card in relation to a health issue?

Look forward to hearing any/all suggestions.

Thanks!

Take this perhaps with a grain of salt, as I am only new to tarot myself, but with the eight of cups reversed, I thought perhaps you are exahusted? Perhaps you need a bit of rest and relaxation to get you back on track?

Hi fourofswords, welcome to AT!

Well, 8 is the number of cosmic balance, that shows things all working well in their own sphere (like the cosmos); and cups relate to emotions, generally, so this could show you run down emotionally - drained - which has led to emotional imbalance.

But cups can also be taken literally - as vessels for liquid. This is not a diagnosis, of course, but you could think of doing a check-up to see that all is working well in your waterworks - kidneys, bladder, etc. Are they balanced? Or cups can relate to blood circulation - is it working well, is it in balance. Your lymph circulation could be out of synch, too. You could be dehydrated - have you been drinking enough water in this hot weather?

I would make an appointment with your GP for a complete check-up - or at least a check-up of those areas related to cups; and also do another reading focussing on each of those body areas, and on the "depression/emotional imbalance" issue.

Thankyou both for your kind replies to my tarot question and the warm welcome to AT!.

I admit I do feel very 'drained' both physically and to some degree, emotionally too.

With regard to the cups/waterworks area, that is certainly an area I suffered with repeatedly as a child (urinary infections); however, more recently, I've been bleeding in between periods and after making love *blush*.

I did get this checked out by the nurse, who sent off stuff for analysis etc... and though she suspected an infection, the results came back as normal. Yet the bleeding continues off and on - not heavily though.

Perhaps the card refers to these gynaecological problems, as blood is fluid, and perhaps a hormonal imbalance might be at work.

Would the *reversed* aspect to this card speak of an 'imbalance' somewhere then?.

I liked the idea of drawing another card(s) for a more specific answer, such as: how is my current gynaecological health?.
Don't know if that'd be the correct way to phrase it though???

Well, I do have an appointment to see my G.P next week, so will be sure to get things checked out. Anaemia may be an element in this too.

Thanks for your thoughts and feel free to add to them if you so wish.

Absolutely! Cups are female related, related, as Helvetica so astutely pointed out, to liquids and things that flow (blood most certainly included!), and the 8/cups, with it's moon symbolism even more so.

In the upright card, the figure is leaving the cups behind--reversed means that you're sticking around...which would certainly indicate that you haven't been able to leave your "moontime" behind, as it were, to shift into that new phase of the moon where you're not bleeding.

No wonder you're exhausted. You're anemic; and emotions are likely to be unsteady as hormones are unbalanced. Love life has been made problematic--also a cups issue. This is a card of being "stuck"--unable to move on.

Hi Thirteen )

Thanks so much for your thoughts on this card.

Everyone who has responded has really helped me figure out what this card is referring to with my health.

I didn't take on board the 'moon' symbolism on this card, and also hadn't thought that the reversed aspect of moving on, is being stuck!!.

With all this 'mootime' my hormones are most likely imbalanced and thus I guess that's why I'm feeling emotionally bummed out *sigh*.

This bleeding situation has been dragging on for some two months or more now, and whilst I've not neglected it medically speaking, I'm not getting any definitive answers yet either from the tests that've been done.

Guess I'm stuck in the mud for the time being.

Thanks for all your thoughts and wonderful insights, I've really appreciated them!.

Welcome to AT, Fourofswords!

Regarding your question, my reader's code of ethics advises to potential querents that a Tarot reading is by no means a substitute for medical or legal advise, I'm glad you had some insight through Tarot but please keep visiting your doctor until they find the source of the problem.

Give yourself the chance to visit another one or even better a specialist, in one word, turn upside down the reversed 8 of cups and go looking for more medical attention than you already have.

Hi Flavio!

Thanks for the welcome to AT, and for your advise too, which I am going to heed by seeing my doctor on Monday.

Hopefully I'll soon get to the root of this problem, as I am becoming quite depressed/low (been tearful this morning)with this total lack of energy (

So I'll turn this card around and go seek that help I obviously need!.

Thanks to you all for your wise counsel )
