Game of Thrones Tarot?

Grizabella

Someone may have already posted about the Game of Thrones deck that's supposed to be out in 2017. I'm definitely going to get one if I can.

Has anyone heard anything more about this?

I'd like to see a GoT deck with the quality of fantasy art that was done for the Modern Spellcaster's tarot.

Of all the examples posted, I like the art style of Mark Evans the best. It's nice to see people working on doing a deck based on the series.

The thing I noticed about the HBO series was that it seemed to put most of the emphasis on the violence, intrigue, and sex. Being HBO, that's to be expected, but I did like seeing actual people in the story. It helped to give me some actual people to associate with the books' characters. I've watched the whole HBO series, but I'm only on the third book. I actually like the books better. :)

I hope they actually publish at least one deck on the series.

I've read all the books twice and like them far better than the series, even though Martin overwrites with a vengeance. Too much screen time was wasted on side-stories that did nothing to advance the plot, and too much of the plot deviated too far from the books. The low point for me was the "Zombie Apocalypse" scene at Hardhome. But I would buy a deck if the art was fantasy style and good enough.

Thanks for these links. I like the first one, but the one by Connie Giang is just amazing! I hope I can see more of those cards, or even see it printed.

I wonder if maybe they will use some of the art or the same artist that made that introduction series some years ago for the new season. Dunno what it was called anymore, but it showed a death each day of another episode. As a kind of countdown. Those were some amazing art pieces too.

I stumbled upon this one recently; http://fav.me/d6qvt21
and google search shows more interesting fan made results;

and this looks beautiful; https://www.conniegiang.com/game-of-thrones-tarot-cards

but it's HBO so it's probably to expect something more grim and gore?:)

btw hate when they don't have decency to list artist name!;/// roll roll

Ok, so that series was called "A Beautiful Death". Can't edit my post for some reason.

I've been keeping my eye on this tarot but as of yet I've found nothing but the title on Amazon.

I checked the publishers website and nothing about the deck. They do have an adult GoT coloring book with some promising artwork:

I like this. I do agree it looks promising.

As for the series, I'm a longtime GRRM fan and started reading it in 1995, back when it was going to be a trilogy. I loved the first couple of books, but IMHO they have meandered too much and an uncontrollable bloat of subplots within subplots has basically taken over.

I think Martin just fell in love with that world, and has written himself to a standstill. Typically, what he is publishing now is all prequel Dunk and Egg stuff, not bad at all, but not the story he set out to write, not anymore. He will probably never finish it.

I just rewatched the whole series (most of it, anyway) in preparation for the 7th season, and I'm amazed at how well done it is. So I'm at that strange point (strange to me at least, since I usually prefer the books to the adaptations) where I might not even bother to read any more ASOIAF books, but I do look forward to the next HBO seasons.

And the Tarot deck, if it bears any resemblance to what's shown at that link.
