Three (3) of Swords, Queen of Pentacles, Page of Wands?

GoddessArtemis

This is not a question as it is an interesting experience with tarot that I came across last night and wanted to share.

I recently hurt my foot and believed it to be just a sprain. Long story short, after a couple of days from the time of injury, my foot began to feel worse instead of better. I made an appointment to see a specialist, but in the meantime was hoping I didn't break any bones.

I asked tarot a very simple question: What is wrong with my foot? I received the 3 of Swords (Hanson-Roberts). Immediately, of course, my impression was, "Crap, it's broken??" :bugeyed: I didn't want to believe it but what do you think of when you normally see the 3 of Swords? Heart "break," right? But I didn't like this answer :)laugh:). So I asked another way: What's wrong with my foot? This time, I used the Druidcraft deck (one of my favorites!) and the Queen of Pentacles came up. Now, one would almost believe that the cards are saying I'm just fine and dandy as the Queen. But what intuitively caught my attention was the Queen of Pentacles' foot on a rock...and the next thing, the fact that she's holding a bone (and beating a drum with it). That foot on the rock - bare foot no less - and her holding a bone didn't paint a very cozy picture suddenly. I even went so far as to ask, how do I improve my situation with my foot? I drew Druidcraft's Page of Wands. At first I thought, what the hell! I can't even walk! And then my eye caught the "Wand"...which actually looks like/is a walking cane, isn't it? Yep, a cane to get around to "improve" my situation!

Anyhow, today I was told by the specialist that I have a stress fracture (3 of Swords) due to impact (Queen beating a drum with a bone) in my toe and that I need to use support/cane (Page of Wands) to get around. Ha ha. I had to laugh. Of course, tarot would be right this time!

Thought this real-life illustration would show other ways the cards can "speak" to the reader.

GA :)

The Night Dances

Wow that's a great story! That's the beauty of tarot, they are never wrong, and the exciting part is learning how to interpret the messages...

This is non-tarot related, but in the same vein... i went to see a fortune teller at a fair last week and she told me i'd be going to a friend's wedding in London. the next day I had a call from a film maker friend of mine asking if I'd play the lead in a film he's making called 'The Marriage', a spoof horror wedding film, and we're shooting in London.. haha!

Hope your foot feels better soon!

Very tidy interpretation there.

As an aside, you are now the third person I know of who has injured their feet somewhat recently, in addition to myself. We need a thread on "cards that represent foot injuries".

Let's do it...lol. :)

Sorry to hear about your foot...but what an awesome interp of those cards! :)

p.s. Here's a fourth one...my sister broke her toe a couple of weeks ago, as well, and is still hobbling around with no shortage of pain...! Must be the summer of broken toes. :(

I have an issue with door jambs. They keep breaking my two outermost toes on either foot, depending on how clumsily I lurch through the doorways. I've long since given up seeing doctors - it's not as if they can plaster them. I last did this in November. Putting on and taking off shoes hurt extremely. Walking, especially downhill when gravity rams broken toes hard against the insides of the shoes, hurt. I complained bitterly and stopped taking my normal morning walks.

Several days ago, I kicked off my shoes - and realised that my toe didn't hurt at all. Damn, I must have healed when I wasn't looking!

I don't tend to consult Tarot about my feet - they're a long way away from wherever it is in my body that *I* live. I put up with them, or ignore them. And in any case, if I pulled a card, I'd only get Granny Jones gently scolding me for not looking after myself! <laughter>

Know what's even funnier? I asked again about my toe today, "What happened?" And guess what? Got the SAME 3 of Swords as before! Yep, broken, alright.

And who knew a broken toe could hurt SO much? I should be like that Queen of Pentacles (the one I posted above) and put my foot up and chill. And use a cane. This thing hurts like one can't imagine.

Sorry about the pain, but your tarot interpretation was great.

The Night Dances -- that story gave me the chills. Oh how I love all things tarot!

You gotta love the way the cards speak to us! Sorry about your foot, hope it feels better real soon and that they gave you some really good painkillers. Isn't there an old wives tale that says something about when you stubb your toe that you are walking the wrong path or something to that effect? I can remember somebody telling me about certain injuries to your body meant certain things going on in your life, sort of like your subconscious trying to get your attention.

I've never heard that before, but if it's remotely true...I wish someone would tell me which way I'm supposed to go, instead of breaking my toe. ;)
