I want a new deck, what should I get?

DDwarks

No such thing as needing "a" new deck. The more you'll browse the internet or chill on here, the more you'll realise you need "them" all.
Good luck!

One of my best friends read for years only with the Hanson Roberts.

I gifted her with the Anna K when it was first out and self-published and that has become her main reading deck.

So- just a thought and putting it out there- she absolutely loves it. :)

I know I'm supposed to cater to decks that reflect your tastes rather than mine. However, if you're looking to explore decks that are a bit different from what you're used to but which are still beautiful nonetheless, you might want to explore the myriad enchanting Metallic Decks offered by LS. My personal favorite is the Klimt, but if you wish to stick closely to the RWS system, the Golden Universal would be your best bet.

I hope you find the deck that would suit you best, Akitablue. Nice nick btw. :)

The Distant Past is a very nice deck that everyone seems to like very much. You can get it on Etsy.

I absolutely love the Wild Unknown tarot, Shadowscapes and the Illuminati tarot. I think Wild Unknown has to be my favorite now... I suppose, though, that it really depends on you and your personal preferences and how you read the cards. My opinions of those decks, having used them more than any of my others in the last couple of years: The Shadowscapes and Illuminati are very arty, in my opinion - a lot to read into/from the cards in that way. The Wild Unknown is a bit more simplistic art wise, a split between colorful and monotone, but not any less fascinating or beautiful in the messages they hold.

I had such a hard time deciding and you guys all gave me so many options. I just ended up going with the wizard tarot deck. The pictures are just so lovely I had to have that one. Now I have to wait for it to come in the mail. SO excited :D

DruidCraft Tarot {I used this one as an intuitive learning deck. I don't know anything about the genre, but they really helped me read intuitively better}. They are large cards, so I don't use them alot now.

Okay.. I think I covered a lot of different types of 'likes' there. lol

Let us know what you decide to go with. I went to buy one deck... Prisma Visions 3rd Edition Tarot Deck and ended up with 5 :bugeyed: Be careful of the Tarot Bug! It is a fun, but expensive bug to catch! :D LOL

I just bought Tarot of the Pirates, Impressionist Tarot, 78 Nautical, Prisma Visions 3rd Edition, Sun and Moon, and waiting on a trade/sell for Paulina Tarot.

I also purchased BoneFire Tarot {still in packaging} and Everyday Witch Tarot. I love my Everyday Witch Tarot deck!

Etsy also has a lot of great Tarot Decks if you want to check that site out.

Have fun and I hope you find your perfect deck!

Theres so many fantastic decks out there, its hard to not suggest most!
Some I highly recommend are:
'The new mythic tarot',greek myth and deities fit the tarot like a glove, its such a readable deck
'Tarot of dreams'by Ciro Marchetti is very good, looks almost lit up from within.
'Morgan greer',one of my favourites-if ever a deck could literally speak this one does
'Wild unknown'very different-if you're looking for something original and more challenging
'Anna k tarot'is very readable and beautiful, has the gentlest death card I've ever seen
'Silver era tarot'one of my new favourites,a black and white deck with each card having a small splash of colour-so beautiful and easy to read too.
Finally, what about looking into getting a Baba studio deck if you can afford to,like Tarot of Prague, while abit more costly ,Baba studio decks make you feel really spoilt as they are so high quality.
