I don't speak the language, either. That will be a stumbling block, most definitely. But I really like the art. The cards alternate between cheerful and moody. So...I just have to save up, and see when I can get them... __________________ And March, the mad scientist, brings a new change in ever-dancing colours. I really like the Leidingkarten, so I haven't caved yet on the Mystical, but they are nice. Both are nice, actually - if you're going to get Kipperkarten, I'd recommend one of those two - unless you absolutely love the Biedermeier style in art - cos that's what the old Kipperkarten decks are. Doesn't do much for me. Leiding is softer, updated but not glaringly modern - same artist as the Astrologisches Lenormand and it shows, and the Kipperkarten are a lot like the Mystical Lenormand, cos those two are the same artist. I can see the money floating away already...I don't like the Mystical Lenormand to read with because it's too busy, but I like the look of the Mystical Kipper. Somebody talk me out of this. |

I would be the worst person to talk to - you know I'm just going to encourage you, Gavriela! I meant to go look up the Leidingkarten last time you mentioned them, but I completely forgot....going to do that now. __________________ And March, the mad scientist, brings a new change in ever-dancing colours. Dang, I DO hope they do an English version, or a "word free" version like the mystical lenormand. Fingers crossed! Tink x |

That's what I'm going to do, I think...wait to see if an English version comes out. If not, then I'll just get the German version. Or I might get both! The English version would definitely be easier, but I am really drawn to the German version... __________________ And March, the mad scientist, brings a new change in ever-dancing colours. I'm really liking the Leidingkarten. Enough so that maybe I can disable myself from the Mystical - at least for a bit. The cards aren't that hard to translate (Leiding is slightly different - it has hospital instead of prison, a couple of things like that, but same concepts). I didn't just volunteer to do that. But if I get a chance, I will. And you put them together the same way you put together Lenormand and read the combos. I like the Leiding because they're soft, pretty, homely, and completely non-threatening. They've been reading well (I am far from expert here, but I've been working with them a few months), and aren't going to freak out anybody, which is a useful deck to have for some clients. In that sense, the titles in German are sort of a plus - and you get the gist of the card from the picture most of the time anyway, same as Lenormand. |

I did finally get a chance to look at those, Gavriela, and I do like those as well. I have three decks lined up for the future, but the Kipper is the one that's still calling the strongest... But I would like to try out the Mystical and the Leidingkarten, too. __________________ And March, the mad scientist, brings a new change in ever-dancing colours. Here are some rough translations of the titles - they differ slightly in Leiding and Kipper, but the meanings are roughly the same: 1) Man, male significator 2) Woman, female significator 3) Relationships and connections (usually romantic) 4) Meetings, get-togethers (business and social) 5) Older Man (usually positive) 6) Older Woman (usually positive) 7) Contacts, letters, news (usually positive) 8) Falsity, wrongness, a deceptive person (negative) 9) Local move or change (usually positive) 10) Journey (usually positive) 11) Lots of money 12) Younger Woman 13) Company, bank, security (usually positive) 14) Minor Illness (weakness, can be about other things than physical, too) 15) Love and friendship (positive) 16) Planning, making plans 17) Joy, recognition, praise (this is also a luck card and helps mitigate negative cards) 18) Something New (Baby) (usually positive) 19) Endings and New Beginnings (in Kipperkarten - Funeral, in Leidingkarten - Coffin) 20) Home, house, stability (positive) 21) Your Own Aparment or Room (positive - your private space) 22) The Officer (can be military or any man in an official position) 23) Decisions to be Taken (neutral) 24) Loss, Theft (negative) 25) Occupation, School, Older People, Success (positive) 26) Great Luck (positive) 27) Finances, Contracts (positive) 28) Be Patient for 3 Months (don't act, let things sort themselves) 29) Fear, Loneliness, Isolation (in Kipperkarten - Prison, in Leidingkarten - Hospital) 30) Quarrel, Stress, Nerves 31) Serious Illness (weakness, can be about other things than physical, too) 32) Brooding, Worries 33) Serious Worries, Deception 34) Work, Hobbies, Activity 35) 2 Years' Patience (usually not literally - it can be a great distance that needs to be overcome to achieve something, or a long time) 36) Dreams, Fantasies, and Fortunes |

Hey! That's a great help, Gavriela! I am going to save this for when I get the deck. __________________ And March, the mad scientist, brings a new change in ever-dancing colours. And April is summer-bound, and February's blue. And no one stops to see the colours. |
