Forest Folklore - Five of Rings

The look on the man's face is that of shock, but at the same time, the way he is throwing his hands up in the air, so to speak, can also be that of exasperation. I can't see it in the terms of the Rider-Waite where it can be about poverty, I just think that there is a case of poor management of resources, such as time and energy.

Either he is spreading himself too thin, in the sense that he has got all these things going on, and then just like the rings that fall in a heap, instead of a nice little pile, then that could also indicate what could happen to someone that has too much on their plate. It might be the fact that there is always something to do, too many actiivities, too much stuff to do, as in housework and work, and just basic chores. Or it could be along the lines that everyone comes to you for help, because they know that you would come through, but the danger with that is that if you don't take care of yourself, you would end up having a nervous breakdown, or come down with some physical illness, in which case not only would you be much use to yourself, but you would be no use to anyone else. So, in effect, it is a card that might remind you to manage your resources carefully, before you end up falling in a heap, just like the rings in the card.

It might be because someone is not very good with organisation, or time management. If that is the case, when it comes to something, maybe more than one thing, that needs to be done, they just crumple under all the pressure, in effect nothing is achieved, which might mean that someone else might come along to pick up the pieces, so to speak.
