Very vivid dream - of Paradise?? "Tir na'n Oge"
I had a VERY vivid dream that seemed to come in installments in the same setting. It was VERY lush, GORGEOUS mountainous scenery; it was somewhere in the NE US, because I was thinking that the people that built the mound - round barrow? - that I was exploring, came over thinking that they were reaching the Western Isles & "Tir na'n Oge"... There was a very high mound, built of stone w/turf growing over it. A young woman was guiding me & a young man (strangers both) to this mound; she showed me a rock w/chisel marks. I was taking pix w/a digi-cam... The sweep of the landscape was such that I remarked that never since viewing the panorama of the Shannon winding by in Ireland, had I seen anything like it... The Wicked Tinkers (Scottish Trad.) play a song called "The Hog in the Western Wood", & it ran through my mind through this entire epic. In this place there was a theater, I'd choreographed a dance to this song & saw it being performed, MOST interesting - I still think in terms of dance, especially in dreams. In the middle of this place, in this lush green wood, there was a horrid, mid-to-late 20th-c. building, a school building. I used to dream that I had to go back - this time all I did was look & think to myself, "I'm SO glad I'm not in school anymore!!" ![]() That young man interested me - then he had a girlfriend kinda all over him at the end of that segment where we were hiking. I said to myself, "Even in my DREAMS I don't get the guy, RATZ!!" ![]() It certainly was "the Western Wood", for sure... Just thought it was an interesting sort of saga, here.
