Hi everyone. Been looking for a site like this for ages, then found a post on Children of Artemis that led me here. Hopefully, I will find help when I get stuck on my journey - and I would like to think I can make a contribution too eventually. I shied away from tarot - even though I tried other methods of divination, I had been scared away by the "Gypsy Rose Lee" image! I have been learning runes for about 2 years and have also used I Ching. Then, my partner gave me a tarot deck for my birthday. He had a psychic dowse for the right deck, and she picked the Arthurian Tarot for me. I think she was spot on, as I have a celtic background and the images appealled immediately. I picked up the Hallowquest book that accompanies the cards, and have started the year long course. I started on Spring Equinox and am determined to stick with it. I would be especially interested to find another beginner who is working through HallowQuest - a soulmate on the journey would be lovely :-) Look forward to getting to know you all. Love, Grailmaiden (aka Janet) |

Welcome, welcome, welcome, GrailMaiden! (I love your name!) I'm assuming you're a fan of the Arthurian legends? Have you read the Mists of Avalon trilogy by Marion Zimmer Bradley? There is another Arthurian deck around, which is a big favourite worldwide, called 'Legend: Arthurian Tarot'. I really like this deck, and the book that accompanies it is excellent too, giving you a synopsis of each legend that is associated with the particular card it is talking about.... Anyway, enjoy your stay here, and I look forward to reading your posts! Hi, Grailmaiden!
Welcome to Aeclectic! Don't forget to stop by the snack table before you sit down in that chair! We have lots of delicious temptations...jade's a good cook and is always bringing something scrumptious. ![]() This is such a wonderful place to have discovered. It's one of my favorite places on the Interenet and is unsurpassed in the Tarot category. I can practically guarantee that if you do need help on your journey, you'll find some guidance here. We have so many members with such varying degrees of knowledge and experience that I think there's someone who can offer help, support, answers, or tips on just about anything Tarot or spiritual. And do not sell yourself short. You may just be starting to learn Tarot, but you'll be amazed that if you share an insight you recieve, it will be just the thing that someone needs to learn or be reminded of. Even as a novice, there are things to share and discuss. I know I can tell you that, because I found it to be true for me. I just began to learn Tarot this past July, and sometimes I have experienced being able to share an insight with someone who has been using Tarot much longer than I have. So *don't* sell yourself short! ![]() I'm looking forward to seeing you around the forums. Hi grailmaiden, Welcome to the forums, there's fun and learning to be had here in one package - I'm learning the I Ching too, its very different from the tarot.
