Hehehehe....it was my pleasure! I actually get a lot out of this deck. I like the approach and all that is said in the books. And it would feel like something was missing if you don't have it. I think you will love mushing the two decks together and working with them that way. I was always taught that if you want to excel in something, you always need to go back to the basics. Artists, musicians, athletes, singers, etc., all do it. I do it with tarot every few years. Pull out a basic RW and basic book and go back to the basics. But they do treat these basic elements in a more elaborate and meditative way, which makes it an excellent deck to use! Plus the artwork is very cool!

Speaking of basics: it seems to me that in this case it wouldn't be so much studying them for themselves, as integrating them with the newer stuff. And that's what having both decks, and combining them, would do. Grimassi indeed says that the original idea was to have one 80-card deck but in deference to the publisher it was split up. And the focus of Well-Worn is more outer while the focus of Hidden is more inner, as the titles suggest. I just got Hidden two nights ago and I've already read the book through twice and looked at the cards a lot. The idea of having all 80 is nearly irresistible. Now to actually find a copy of Well-Worn! |

I hope Jewel will chime in and explain how you really make use of the Hidden without the Well Worn. To me, it would feel like a 2nd floor floating above the street without a ground floor... By now, I couldn't really tell any more which cards belongs to which deck, except for the elements and basic tools. They do feel like a unity. __________________ Some are born to sweet delight, some are born to endless night... ~William Blake, Auguries of Innocence~ Screws fall out all the time. I miss her here but talk to her on the phone all the time. ![]() But I have been using the Hidden Path by itself for a year or so. And it's been working very well!! Like I said before I haven't even missed the Well Worn. Of course it may come down to - I didn't know I was missing anything. Until I get the Well Worn Path and try them together. Well, as I posted in the other thread, a friend of mine picked up a copy for me of Well-Worn, at a conference Grimassi and Taylor were guests at. Only now, after a massive apartment dig-out, it seems that my copy of Hidden got boxed off to storage. Oh well, so much for putting them together... |
