For anyone starting out with runes, I'd recommend writing down the whole runic alphabet and use them to write with. It gives practise in forming the shapes and you get familiar with them - writing everyday stuff is ok or just names - just don't get creative as runes can be used in magic - you don't want to be writing an incantation in runes without realising it LOL or making a bindrune by accident. Also I don't think I would be able to use runes without reading up on them and actually learning about them first. __________________ # # Emily # # ----------------------------------- A good student never stops learning Having fun with the Liber T |

It seems a lot of people also think that tarot and runes and the like are systems in and of themselves that should have some kind of basis before starting off. I just had this really funny image while reading a previous post that went along the lines of someone walking into an astrology class and trying to prove the teacher wrong because "well I feel this means this because that's what I WANT it to mean an that's what I FEEL". Professor then says "so you're 2 years of feeling add up to meaning more than thousands of years of observation?" mr./ms. Know-it-all leaves murmuring under his/her breath "fools...ignorant self-righteous, narrow-minded fools" hopefully the way my brain functions doesn't perturb too many of you...and I apologize if my spelling is absolutely horrendous as I am working with a 2x4 inch screen lol Peace and Love __________________ Jetzt ist Sommer! |
