I mainly picked up this deck for it's striking art and the opportunity to do some comparative studies and when I first saw this card I was not disappointed! From the first glance a light went off in my head and The Magician made so much more sense to me. Maybe because I come from a musical background it really clicked with me. Immediately I got the concepts of mastery of both the inner and outer realms, the sense of control (drums set and lead the pace whether a rock concert or a voodou ritual), and just overall the sense of unity (1) and joy of the self melding into the activity. Now when I think of The Magician I think of Hendrix or Coltrane or other performers whose ego and sense of self just dissolves in the presence of just ~being~. Thanks Dr John!
