Using only minor arcana

Hi, I've been searching all over the place for the answer to this question, but can't seem to find it. Has anyone used only minor arcana for a reading? For what types of readings would this be most helpful if at all? And lastly, can I use regular poker cards to represent this and try this?

I only ask because I'm still waiting on my Rider-Waite deck to come in the mail (won't be here until Tuesday), but I really want to try to do some readings before then since I'm learning so much. lol I'm not very patient I guess.

Yes, there are plenty of people who use normal playing cards for divination. Apart from the Major Arcana being missing, the other difference is that a playing card deck only has 3 court cards (Page, Queen, King) as opposed to a Tarot deck's four (with a Knight included). It's not quite the same as reading Tarot because you don't have any visual cues from the card image to base your interpretation on - this means it tends to be less intuitive and more "by-the-book" interpretation - but I don't see a problem with that, especially since most people starting to learn Tarot stick quite strictly to the book meanings anyway.

If you just want to start putting what you've learnt into practice before your deck arrives in a few days, I don't see the harm in practising with playing cards at all Whatever helps you learn best, there's no right or wrong answer.

Ok great! I know it won't really help me with my intuition much, but I can at least start learning the textbook meanings of the minor arcana. And thanks for clarifying what the Jacks would correspond to! I was thinking they would be Knights. Good to know they actually correspond to the Pages.
