Smile Tarot card formation or method?

Hello,

I'm a Beginner into Tarot Readings...I have a new tarot deck called "Beginner's Guide to TAROT" by Juliet Sharman-Burke".

Is there a 'proper' way to learn with this deck of tarot cards?
Example: Use the Wands first before I start with the Swords, Pentacles, Major Arcana etc etc?

Or should I start using the minor arcana?

Pointers and suggestions are welcome!
Thanks everybody!

Blair.

There is no one way to learn tarot cards, and no best way. The best way is the one that works for you.

That said, what most do--and what I'd recommend--is to start with the majors. Go through them, get to know them. Memorize them even--I don't mean memorize what they mean, just what they are: Fool, Magician, High Priestess, Empress.... Get to know them as you would get to know new friends. Then start exploring ways to learn their meanings. Try as many different ways as you like and do what works for you, be it keywords or meditating or journaling.

Once you feel comfortable with the majors--you don't have to be proficient, just comfortable, move onto the minors. Get to know the meaning of the different suits--what "Swords" are all about, what "Wands" indicate; then try comparing the numbers. Look at all the two's and all the three's. Take notice of their similarities and differences. Save the court cards for last. They always seem to be the most puzzling to beginners and need a little extra time. Once you feel you kinda sorta know the 78 cards, try some small spreads, one card to start, then three. Don't take these readings seriously--they're for practice and the cards know it; and don't fret if you can't quite remember what the cards mean. Things will click into place.

Above all, remember that there's no hurry. You've plenty of time to learn, and there are stages of learning you need to go through--that we all go through. Some of these stages you may learn amazingly quick, others may take you some while. Enjoy the learning, because in the end, you never stop learning when it comes to Tarot. This is a never ending, and fascinating journey. Welcome fellow traveler.

When i started with my deck it was a deck that was given to me by a friend of mine and i didnt have the book to it or internet to learn the traditional meaning to the deck of cards and i had found it was easy for me to get a good feeling off of them by looking at one everyday and trying to figure out what it made me think and feel, i read pretty good with that deck of cards to this day but it was frustrating

i ended up buying a book with traditional meanings to the cards and a deck to go along with the book and found if you first make yourself aware of what each cards name is and learn the pictures its nice i did about 3 cards a day where i focused on there meanings and then wrote down feeling i got from them that didnt go along with the book. Also something that helps is a journal do a celtic cross spread and write down the cards and the books meaning when you wake up and then read it at the end of the day see what actually happened in your day and try to see how you could have fit the meanings into your real life situations

No there is no "proper" way to learn how to read Tarot. And in fact the best way for one person may not work well at all for the other. We are all very different inside spiritually and the path inward is not the same for any of us. Tarot IS a spiritaul tool that teaches us to access something deep within, the path inward is different for different people. But you WILL find it if you try. Your intuition will kick in more and more and you will FEEL more and more what is working for you and what is calling to you. Just start and work on it and the path will reveal itself the more you do. But for now yes therre is some memorization work and that is a good place to start.

I also started with the Majors but no matter where you start you will end up learning the cards and how to read. It seems easier to start with the Majors though since there are less of them. And once you are more familiar with the 22 of them you can start reading while you are learning the rest. People do read with only the Majors and some Majors only decks exist.

The best way to learn is to just be curious and follow that curiouslity where it leads. Read lots of books and learn. Trial and error and keeping journals. And AT.

Once you get to the Minors, it really makes no difference that I can see which suit you start with or in which order you work on them in. I just learnt them in the order they can in in the book with my deck but that was just for convenienve, ti would have worked just as well in a different order.

And most important: Have fun, and let yourself see the joy and wonder as it unfolds. You're starting off on an amazing journey that will amaze you in ways you have not yet imagined. It's the most wonderful journey of all, an inner journy into your connection to life and will show you some miraculoursly beautiful things along the way. Enjoy the journey.
