Did you mean Gestalt? (I googled it and it suggested that spelling )One of the search results was actually from this web site. http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/books/heart-of-tarot/ "...emphasizes eliciting insights from the querent themselves rather than memorizing meanings." I suppose you ask the querent, "What do you see in this card? what does this card mean to you?" Things like that. I have heard of this method before, but I didn't know that this is what it was called. I'm sure if you googled it you could get more in-depth definitions and explanations. __________________ As a crystal in the night, so must we, in the darkness of the world, glow from within. |

This is a guided reading. The guide takes the sitter through a journey into their own intuition. The key aspect of this style of reading is that there are no questions asked that can be answered with a yes or no answer, they have to be open ended where the sitter has to come up with a fairly focused response. It is the guides responsibility to be sure that their questioning is not leading in any manner. __________________ LOVE is our SOUL purpose |

Here's one of the things that bothers me that some tarot readers try to do---practice therapeutic techniques as though they're a trained counselor when they're not. Just because a lady wrote a book that's supposed to teach you how to do this doesn't mean she's able to make sure that the technique is going to turn out safely in your hands. Licensed therapists who practice Gestalt therapy didn't learn it out of a Tarot book. Think about it. Just a personal pet peeve of mine. But I guess making the client read their own cards, then leave thinking they got a Tarot reading from you is a nice job if you can pull it off. Good pay, little effort----hey! __________________ Check out the A. Nonny Mouse Thread! Hello This thread is a bit older, but as Gestalt-Therapy is a very interesting subject, I think that Tarot can be a good tool for it I think it is a pity that people believe a) that the book brings up the idea that a Tarot reader practices Gestalt therapy b) that it is a good pay for the client to do the job Maybe some people having a serious interest in such ideas would still like to discuss the possibilities. As an NLP-Practictionner the idea of using Tarot as a tool is a very interesting thought Greetings Kangiska __________________ If you argue with an idiot, make sure the other one doesn't do the same thing |
