Exactly how I feel!
But it also depends on the quality cardstock which determines if I get a back-up or not. Those very laminated US Games ones, forget it!
I just got the Llewelyn Steampunk. I've been using it ever since it got here and I love it. But the cardstock isn't so great, so I will probably purchase a back-up.

So....IDK. In your shoes, if I got some extra money (gift card, whatever) I might.

Now that I am old and have more money I do buy extras of my go-to decks. Not that any of them will be going out of print right away. But, if something catastrophic were to happen (water-bottle leak, spill, chocolate, chewed by dog) I feel better having an extra, just in CASE.
oh... I had not even thought about the posibility of something catastrophic happening DX haha

I'd say if you have been consistently using a deck for 6 months or more then it could be considered a 'favourite' and so might be worth getting a back-up. If you just get a deck, love it and then rush out to get a back-up, you run the risk of have two of a lot of decks you don't use.

In saying that, the deck you linked to is a Lo Scarabeo deck and they do tend to go OOP. But, in saying that, they also tend to be relatively easy to find for some time after they stop being printed.

There is another thing to consider though. If you want a deck and it is OOP you can usually find it. It may cost you more, but where there is a will there is a way. I know this because a very large number of my decks I didn't discover until after they were out of print.

I think if I had my time again I'd hold off on buying back-ups until I was absolutely sure the deck in question was one I'd use often and return to again and again. I possibly would have saved myself enough money to cover the extra cost of buying all those OOP decks.

Not sure if this has been helpful at all.
it has been my favourite deck , and really the one I use for over a year now I think, and believe I never rush to anything specially when it concerns the few pesos I have haha , and it has been in print for about 6 years I think alredy.

I wish they printed mini versions of that one and I'd probbaly buy lots of it X) haha

If you have children around or in an environment where someone else could damage/lose any then yes, perhaps a back up is a good idea, but with your description I can't help thinking that the deck is just developing character with being loved and used!
yes , I dont mind it looking severly loved , it goes with me everywhere on my backpack and even sleeps with me haha but that is why Im concerned haha

I'd be tempted to buy a back-up copy while the deck's still in print and relatively cheap and easy to find... but that being said, I always end up giving in to the temptation of new decks instead! I think if you look after a deck and treat it with care it will live a long and happy life - and tarot bags are a good investment for protecting them, especially while travelling
my box almost is almost desintegrated X) haha it is pretty much the only one I use everyday

the problem is I dont have a credit card to buy online , and in mexico this deck is around 50 dolars , oh , and nobody here sells oop decks , tarot isnt all that widespread around here , its all herbs, soaps and spanish cards.

I have back ups of my favourites & the ones I use most, mainly in case anything happened to one of them. In the case of the Bohemian Gothic I have back ups of each edition as it's just such a special deck.
I do prefer my more well used decks so the back ups are simply that... back up in case of emergency...

I am on a limited income, I'm disabled. I only have backups of my absolute favoritest decks. And I stick to that. The only problem is, since they are back ups, I am afraid to open them. I suppose if a card goes missing or is damaged beyond repair, then I will have to. I was actually going through my box of tarot boxes (getting ready to sell some) and I found a back up I didn't even know I had! lol

Then there was one time a card got wet and part of it peeled off! Not even one of my favorites. I still haven't replaced that deck. But I almost cry every time I think of it.

My most favorite deck is too expensive for me to purchase a back up deck yet. But it's made of plastic so I'm hoping it will last longer.

Once you can justify a second, it's easier to go 3 and 4 or more. I stop myself at 2 copies. What are the odds I'd damage or lose the exact same card twice? Oh great, now I've jinxed myself.

We acquired a 2nd copy of the Maroon Tarot to keep
pristine. Its limited and too gorgeous to not display for years to come.
