Court Card in Behind Position in Celtic Cross
I have a question regarding card placement and meaning when using the Celtic Cross. I'm wondering what the 'Behind' position means exactly. Why? Because when I did the spread recently I got 'King of Cups' for behind. And before me is the 'Princess of Swords'. I think I can identify who each individual represents. And the spread also makes sense in terms of what is going on with me in relation to each of them. I could see that the cards suggest that I will be more involved with the 'Princess' and less involved with the 'King' in the future. This is my question: does a court card (for example, the King of Cups) in the 'Behind' position suggest that this person is out of my life completely, forever, goodbye, "have a nice life" or is this person more in the background for now or less the center of my life? In other words, could it mean I have other things going on right now such as focusing on my 'Princess' that preclude me from really spending time and energy on him? What does the 'Behind' position mean exactly in the Celtic Cross spread? Literally Behind? Last edited by exmuse; 24-04-2012 at 07:19. |

I generally read it to suggest receding energy in the situation. If it turns a court card, then it could be the person signified by it is passing out of your energy sphere to take place in a position in your past--and that fact is leading you or has led you to your current situation. Or it could be that your need to use the traits generally attributed to that court card is passing out of necessity for you in the situation. i.e. It could be that the person is passing out of your life "for good"...or it could be simply situational to what you are going through at the moment. __________________ I never bend, fold, or mutilate.
