Death's Bride? Wtf does that mean?
All day, I have been queasy and been having this dark feeling in the pit of my stomach. So I thought I'd just try to sleep it off. I had a strange and unsettling dream. I could hear someone whispering Ven a mí, mi novia and Dream Me, who was clad in a medieval style simple red flowy gown with lacy cuffs woke up to see the words La Muerte floating in the air. I opened my eyes and the wispy word cloud vanished. I knew Muerte had something to do wit Death, so I came online immediately and checked on Google Translate. My blood froze for a moment when I saw that it meant "Come to me, my bride". and that the words La Muerte sort of pointed to the Grim Reaper. (the latter info I did not get off google translate) Basically, I dreamed that Death was calling me His Bride and wanted me to go with him. I am absolutely freaking out, and I don't want to die anytime soon But the grave feeling in my stomach has now intensified and I am scaredSorry if this sounded silly, but I am genuinely worried. (I have been getting 4/Swords and 10/Swords a lot of late) __________________ There is no secret ingredient. Just you. - Po. |

Hmm, well I would say that you had a very rich dream about your fear of death, which comes down to a fear of losing one's Self. Are you passing through one of the great threshholds of life? A graduation, a move, a big transformation of some kind? Like the Death card, a dream about death is rarely if ever literally about death. It's more often about anxiety (understandably!) Conversely, in my experience, a dream presaging death is usually quite odd and mundane, strangely ordinary and everyday. Someone is looking for something, or is engaged in the very ordinary act of, for example, knitting or searching for a shoe! |

Also, I am happy to report that I got over my silly fears after a reasonably sized bar of chocolate Also, to answer your question.. I am not in any major phase. Was supposed to graduate this year, but have to repeat a semester. The anxiety about that is always there.. I know people tell me I am young and I still have loads of time to make it, but I guess this dream just reminded me that our time on Earth can be cut short any time...

it's a bit late, but may i chime in...? Since learning and becoming familiar with tarot, i've accepted Death where before i feared and resented it. in all my meditations with each card, Death's meditation was the one that stood out as the most vibrant and vivid and meaningful experience. Death wasn't the dark cloaked shadowy scary figure so often pictured in imagery. He was actually fairly young and good looking with bright blue eyes and a brilliant smile. Dressed in a white suit, he was surrounded in a crystaline white glow with bright pinpoints of gold sparkling in it. He greeted me joyfully and at no time did i feel uncomfortable or fearful. as brilliant as he was, he was a bit melancholy that he was feared and misunderstood so greatly. he told me his task was simply to clear away the old so that new opportunities may come into our lives. New opportunity and potentiality was what all those gold sparkles that surrounded him were. so, to be called by death to be so intimate is possibly a gentle reminder to remember to release that which you don't need so that he can bring new things to you. just my own little take on your dream... cheers! |

This probably makes no sense & I don't know where it came from... when I read "Death's Bride?" the first thing I thought of was "continuous cycles" Bride- commitment Death- transformations, endings Commiting to repeating the same cycle over & over & over I agree with the other posters but thought I add this in for an extra.

it was a great meditation, my absolute favorite out of all the meditations i've had with the Majors... totally caught me by surprise the way Death looked in my meditation compared with how Death is usually portrayed.

When you say meditation, what exactly were you doing? Just holding the card and closing your eyes or looking at the imagery and nothing else...?

the meditation exercise my mentor had me do was to take each card and sit with it for a few minutes and just let my eyes wander over the image, see what stands out and what doesn't, note any feelings i feel, then "step into the card" and "meet the characters". Needless to say with this meditation, the imagery inside my meditation was not what is depicted in the card. instead i found myself in a very non-descript setting, rather unforgettable actually. the most dynamic "thing" there was Death. we had a quick talk, the meat of the chat what i mentioned before. Then he gave me a parting gift, and then i opened my eyes and was back in my room. |
